Help! S.O.S. MGM nightmare

We have reservations for our honeymoon at MGM Signature Suites May 25 - 29th. We received a call earlier TONIGHT saying that The Signature would not be available. (Did I mention that we are supposed to check in tomorrow?) The best that they have been able to come up with so far is a Premiere Suite at Luxor?#$@* What is this? Anyone know? Nothing available onlineas far as pictures, and the lady at Luxor was not very descriptive as far as the ';type'; of room. All we have been told is 1050 sq ft and should fit our needs which is in room for Champange/Cake reception for 20 people. Any help would be appreiciated as our plane leaves Dallas in 8 1/2 hours!!!!

you prepaid for your honeymoon suite? you had reservations and THEY cancelled on you? Tell them to put you into the mansion for your inconvienience, nice suites ...madonna is staying there this weekend as well. They should give you the best for free as this seems to be their fault. Other than that....try ceasars, they are not owned by mgm :)

How did they cancel your room?

Did you pay for it yet?

Demand a better room upgrade on MGM for this problem.

Ask to talk to the manager to get it done!!!!

They did have us pay for one night up front and according to the person who called there are no rooms/suites available at MGM due to the Madonna concert - thus Luxor. And we have asked to speak to a manager however it seems that by the time they got around to calling us, there was no one ';available'; that had the authority to do anymore than what they are offering. We will have to deal with this when we arrive later today.....

it seems like they%26#39;re focused on this madonna concert - and why hotel room managers would be preoccupied with this is beyond me.

if they don%26#39;t resolve this issue by the time your flight takes off from dallas, my suggestion would be to make the best of it at the luxor. you%26#39;re there on a honeymoon to CELEBRATE with friends and family, right? just put this mishap behind you - for now - and have a good time.

MGM%26#39;s day of reckoning comes afterwards when you write a descriptive, pointed, %26amp; stern letter to the hotel management....and follow it up with another one if you don%26#39;t get a prompt response.

you guys deserve better treatment than this, so let%26#39;s hope they do you right by setting you guys up with a nice package for your next vegas vacation.

remember: honeymoon = happy times. don%26#39;t let the MGM (or madonna) spoil it for you!

I agree totally with the last poster and it might serve you better in the long run to just go with the flow before. Remember, even at the Luxor, they are in control and you don%26#39;t want them to ruin it anymore than they have. You can bring out the big guns afterwards.

Complimentary Madonna tix? I do agree, however, I%26#39;m thinking complimentary tix to ANYTHING on ANY of their properties, along with complimentary meals at any of their restaurants!!!! I also agree that it%26#39;s probably best all around to ';put it behind you';....for now. But I don%26#39;t understand how a manager wasn%26#39;t ';available';. Isn%26#39;t there a manager on duty at ALL TIMES? I%26#39;d be FURIOUS, but you don%26#39;t want your honeymoon spoiled. They really should be offerering you ';complimentary'; just about anything.

I hope once you arrive, you%26#39;ll be surprised at all the ';freebies'; you are offered. I%26#39;ve never stayed at Luxor, but a friend of mine just got back from a stay there, and she loved it. I hope it all turns out in your favor. You should really WIN BIG for all your trouble!! Let us know how it all turns out. And major congrats and best wishes on your marriage!

Make the most of it hopefully you only have one honeymoon and explain it nicely to management. Ask for a free trip the next time on dates of your choosing ,plus ask to have all your meals comped,plus Madonna tickets ,and mention the fact that you used the m.g.m because of tripadvisor and will be psting a full report back on this site.Every hotel hates bad publicity.Write a full complaint to management when you get back ,and a full trip report.Get the names of the people you are dealing with.Try and not lose your temper ,you will catch more bees with honey than vinegar .Be polite but forceful and get agreements in writing.Good luck and congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials.

Thank you candycornhead for posting about this. I am booked at the Signature 6/6 through 6/10 and now I%26#39;ll probably change and stay somewhere else. When I called the Signature front desk they couldn%26#39;t assure me that this wouldn%26#39;t happen to me too. Great customer service!

Just checked you had a binding legal contact with mgm and I would remind them of this.
