Arrived in Vegas last Thursday around 11:30 (this is my third time in Vegas). SW flight sucked as usual. Took a taxi to Caesars and tried to check in but they said we couldn%26#39;t until 2 so drank and gambled for a bit instead. When we did check in we decided to upgrade our room into the new Augustus tower since we heard on this website how nice it was. What a good decision- the room was fabulous! 41st floor, view of the strip and pools, jacuzzi tub, and the bed was so comfortable! Took a little bit for our luggage to be brought up, and we were ready to get back down and keep partying. Drank and gambled in Caesars and Bellago for the rest of the day until we had to get ready to meet our friend for dinner. Drink service good at Caesars, even at nickel slots. While we were waiting for our friend convinced the bouncer standing outside of Pure to put me on the list for Saturday night. Then our friend picked us up (nice to have a friend in Vegas) and went to Hard Rock for dinner at the Pink Taco. Pink Taco was great- it is my favorite Mexican place in Vegas. But I was so excited to be in Vegas and drunk too, so while we were waiting on dinner escaped to pay slots for a few minutes! After dinner gambled there for a few hours, mostly roulette, then went back and crashed.
Friday I was hungover. Breakfast buffet at Cafe Lago was good. We walked around to the end of the strip and gambled at all the hotels on the way- NY NY, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. Drink service at MB sucked. Had lunch at Burger Bar in MB. Got one of those enormous margaritas after lunch at Luxor, but made me queasy so decided to hold off drinking till later. Hit the MGM on the way back then took the monorail back to Ballys. Got ready and had dinner at Neros steakhouse at CP. Pretty good- hubby liked the steak and my chicken was good, the mac %26amp; cheese was great. Friend picked us up and headed over to Wynn and gambled for a bit to get comp passes into Tryst. We were able to skip the line for Tryst too by passing a bouncer $40. Tryst was an awesome club- the waterfall outside was really cool. Wyclef Jean performed live which was cool too. After leaving Tryst a little too drunk and hubby lost playing War and Blackjack and was not in a good mood after that.
Next day ordered room service for breakfast which we did for the rest of the trip. Very convenient and good (except for last day) and not really expensive. Went to Mirage and saw the Siegfried and Roy%26#39;s Secret Garden. The dolphins were neat and it was a good way to kill an hour without drinking. Then went to the Price is Right show at Bally%26#39;s. It was OK. The host of The Bachelor was guest hosting. Would not go again. The TV clips they playing were actually more entertaining than the show itself. And they say it is random who goes on stage but I don%26#39;t think show- 3 guys from the same bachelor party got on stage! Prizes not great either. Nickel slots great at Bally%26#39;s though- you can play for hours on $20! Had dinner w/ hubby that night at Fix at Bellagio. Very good food, and very trendy. A bit loud, so probably wouldn%26#39;t be good for a romantixc dinner, but we didn%26#39;t care. Had a well done filet and it was great, and the Kobe beef cheese fries appetizer was unique. Headed over to Pure where a 9:15 (doesn%26#39;t open till 10) huge line already formed. Got in line around 9:30 in the VIP area. Didn%26#39;t get inside till around 10:15, but we were the first to be let in once that sat all the tables, and they had to wait forever too! If we weren%26#39;t on VIP probably would have took hours to get in literally- the line wrapped all around the casino. Pure was nice and the outside deck was totally awesome with great views of the strip. Don%26#39;t know if the club is worth ALL the hype though!
Sunday was our pool day at Caesars. The pools are really nice and very relaxing. Rented a raft for $15 and floated around and enjoyed it a lot. Not too many kids, and it was not a big party scene at all. Which was good since I was in the mood to chill. Checked out Paris hotel afterwards which was nice. Then went over to Aladdin and drink service there was excellent, on nickel slots too! Even when I was just sitting not even playing! Got ready and went to dinner we had reservations at Tao. If you go, make sure you make reservations at least a month in advance. (We could not even get in for Friday or Saturday night before 10:30, and we called 3 weeks before!) Dinner at Tao was worth it though, my favorite dinner of the whole trip. My Kung Pao chicken was the best ever. Spring rolls good too, and my hubby enjoyed the sushi, expecially the Angry Dragon roll. After dinner headed over to Bellagio where we had tickets for ';O';. 2nd level orchestra seats were great. Show was amazing, even hubby thought it was fantastic. After O gambled then went to Light for a little bit, got the manager%26#39;s card earlier so no wait (line not long anyways) and I got in free. Light sucked though- it was pretty small and it has no outdoor bar or anything like that. So headed back to Caesars around 3 am then I went to bed while he lost a few hundred dollars in their poker room. Do not play poker drunk- I tried to tell him!
Sadly Monday was our last day- although I was totally worn out from drinking and partying too much so it was probably a good thing. Had lunch at Gardenos at the Palms with our friend (their Mexican not NEARLY as good as Pink Taco) then he dropped us of at the airport.... :-( Flight sucked and we got back to Tampa after midnight completely exhausted and we are still recovering this weekend....why else would I be home on a Saturday night!!!! :-)
TRIP REPORT 6/1-6/5 Still recovering!!!Thanks for the wonderful post............I have now added the Pink Taco to my To-Do-List for my next trip to Vegas : )
TRIP REPORT 6/1-6/5 Still recovering!!!what was your gambling budget and how much did you lose?
Awesome report!!!
how much did it cost to upgrade?
thanks
Great report and welcome home! Thanks for the info on the Pink Taco...think I%26#39;ll try it out when hubby and I are there in August since finding good Mexican here in Tampa is next to impossible!!
Sounds like you had a really great time in Vegas. Thanks for sharing.
Didn%26#39;t really have a gambling budget, we just tried to keep track and play lower stakes games. We ended up losing about $500 total which is not too bad for 5 days (which is mostly due to my husband playing poker drunk at 4am). Actually had pretty good luck with slots and roulette not bad either. We are still in Vegas withdrawl so ended up going to the Hard Rock in Tampa last night and met a friend up there. I won $200 on slots, but hubby lost $300 playing poker tournaments!
FYI- ask the Pink Taco to make you their hottest salsa- it is the craziest and your tongue will burn for an hour afterwards.
Oh, yeah....it costed $80 a night to upgrade but totally worth it. We cancelled our couples massage to make up for it!
