Am going in August and want to visit LA. We need to hire a car what type is best and where should we hire one from?

I am not sure if you need the car when you get to LA. If you do, then rent and drive but get unlimited mileage. If you do not need a car in LA you may be better off flying if you can get the cheap Southest flights. I personally use Hertz all the time for business but sometimes they are not the cheapest. Dollar and Budget are good alternatives.

MID SIZE car for the trip, more comfortable. Be sure you are familiar with the HWY system or you could end up in San Francisco.

Dont forget---- RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC problem.
