My husband and I are treating ourselves and another couple to a stopover in Vegas (3 nights) on our way to Texas this summer. I am the only one who has been there before (stayed at TI). We initially wanted to stay at the Ritz in Henderson, but figured since we have so little time it wouldn%26#39;t facilitate seeing ';vegas.'; We want to see all the cheesy theme hotels, but we just don%26#39;t want to stay at one. We%26#39;re interested in shopping, sightseeing and possibly a show. We will not be clubbing or gambling. We want more of an oasis, since we%26#39;ll be busy once we get to Texas.
I have narrowed it down to The Four Seasons, the Bellagio, and the new Signature at MGM. The Wynn is a remote possibility. I%26#39;m leaning towards the Signature or the Four Seasons because they seem like the best of both worlds. Unless the fountains and designer shops at Bellagio rare really worth it. I would love it if someone local could give me a rundown/ and recommend one of these hotels. The others aren%26#39;t so picky, but having a great room and luxurious bathroom are important to me. My husband wants a great view of the strip.
Thanks!
Help me choose a luxury oasis on the strip!!!!!
Great view of the strip says Bellagio to me! But, you will have to book a lakeview room to get that view. We did it in Nov and the view was well worth the extra cost. We were on the 24th floor, out our window front and center were the Bellagio fountains with Paris and the Eiffel Tower as backdrops!
Until I saw the remark about center strip and a view, I was going to say Four Seasons might best suit your needs for that oasis you want. However, Bellagio is beautiful. If you do choose it, to keep you in oasis mode, take a 1/2 day at their spa for a nice couples massage or other services they have to offer.
No matter which you choose, enjoy!

Have stayed at the Wynn, Bellagio and 4 Seasons. Wynn is overpriced but is beautiful with only mid-sized crowds---more gawkers than guests. 4 Season has a private pool area from Mandalay Bay (remember 4 Seasons is the top 4 floors of Mandalay Bay and a great spa. The rooms are the same as Mandalay---so do not plan on a great bathroom unless you really upgrade Bellagio is primo even at the low level rooms facing the lake. Have always been pleased with my visits here--you will not go wrong
If you want Center Strip then 4 Seasons would be out; but loved our stay there. Sounds like the others have it nailed, Bellagio would suit you best.
Hi canada
i recently returned from my 1st vegas trip. I checked out all the hotels and like you am not interested in the cheesy disney type hotels.I thought the mandalay bay and bellagio and wynn were the nicest ,ceasers palace was impressive and high end shops. if your looking for decnt discount shopping .i went to the premium outlet mall.Great deals compared to canada , especially for name brand stuff for my preteens. Probably bellagio for location. I have not compared rooms in these hotels. Good luck let us know how it turns out. wynne from quebec
For the view I definitely say Bellagio. Just be prepared to pay for that lakeview room--it is worth it.
Shopping--definitely Forum shops at Caesar%26#39;s Palace and Fashion Show Mall.
I would say stay at the Bellagio. It is more ';center'; strip as opposed to the others. MGM and Mandalay are both at the south end of the strip and if you want to shop all the big shopping centers (ceasars/fashion show mall) are at the center/north end of the strip.
I am a fan of the awesome bathroom too. From your post, I think you should try the the rooms in the Palace Tower at Caesars Palace. It was much larger than the Bellagio room and had his and her bathrooms that were connected by a huge shower in between them. We took a lot of showers.....Also, great location and everything Caesars has to offer. I don%26#39;t recall what exactly the room was called, but call and describe it and they will figure it out; it was not the average CP room. You would not be disappointed. We have stayed everywhere that everyone else has mentioned except the Signature at MGM.
That Palace Tower room was not an ordinary Palace Tower room, I can%26#39;t remember what they call them though.....maybe petite suite?? Anyway, those rooms are oversized and have a Jack and Jill bathroom connected by a huge shower. I stayed in one a few years ago and loved it. That said, I%26#39;ve read on here where some say that the Palace Tower is now looking a little worn. That%26#39;s why I didn%26#39;t name it in my other post but did name the new Augustus Tower.
Thanks Gabby, I know it wasn%26#39;t the standard room. We wore each other out, but the room was fine when we left it.
LOL ;)
Do you remember what they called those rooms? The bathroom/shower set up was awesome!
