Tropicana (garden room) or Circus?? Please Help

So we%26#39;re going to Vegas on the 18th of this month for 4 nights. Obviously, based on the hotels we%26#39;re looking at we%26#39;re on a budget (we%26#39;re 20 somthing students and looking to do Vegas on the cheap)

We currently have a Circus west tower room (apparently one of the nicer rooms by circus circus standards) booked. However, for about only $10 more we can get a Garden Room at the Tropicana. I know that Tropicana has a superior location on the strip...however Im a bit nervous about the garden rooms. I havent read many positive things about them. Sort of reminds me of the manor rooms at Circus...which i would NEVER stay in. And yes...I know about the millions of rugrats that are going to be running around circus circus :)

Any thoughts? What would you do? We%26#39;re having trouble deciding.

Tropicana (garden room) or Circus?? Please Help

What I would do is look into Flamingo. The rooms might be a bit more expensive but it is completely and totally worth it, between location, amazing pool, cleanliness and attentive staff. Another possiblity is the Aladdin - they%26#39;ve got a lot of specials floating around out there for that place.

Tropicana (garden room) or Circus?? Please Help

I guess if you put a gun to my head I would choose the garden room at the Trop. At least they have a nice pool. The when you get there to check in ask them if they have any upgrades available...You never know, they might put you in one of the tower rooms and then you%26#39;re all set.

Avoid the Circus like the plague...

A agree with TomVegas.....If I had to choose. my choice would be the Tropicana as well. MGM, Excalibur and Luxor are right across the street when you decide to venture away from your Hotel.

20 somethings don%26#39;t belong in CircusCircus surrounding by kids...and too think about it., you won%26#39;t be in the room much anyways...you%26#39;ll be exploring the City, drinking yard long Margarita%26#39;s and winning money (hopefully).

Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the quick responses!

Trust me...we looked at other hotels. Flamingo would definately be a first choice but their prices are more then double what we%26#39;re paying now. We figured we wouldnt be in the room too much so why spend all that money.....which is why we picked circus. We%26#39;re prepared for a bit of walking.

If we do decide on the Tropicana, I%26#39;ll definately be asking for an upgrade is possible. But you have to go expecting to get the room you booked. In our case...the garden room

I would rather sleep in my car, then bath in lake meade before I would stay at CC...for cryin out loud stay at the Imperial Palace for

$49-$69 a night at least.

yes, Imperial Palace is another possibility. But having gone to Vegas once before I really did find that place a bit creepy. Everything from the eerie blue lighting to the smokey and closterphobic feeling casino. It does have a great location though. Im also nervous about choosing their cheap rates and then being put in their motel style rooms overlooking the parking garage.

Iam the first to say IP is a dump. But compared to staying at CC

its the Ritz.

Stay off the strip if you have to. I%26#39;d rather walk a block than stay at Circus.

Spring for the Trop. Great location. Great pool. CC is in the hinterlands on the North Strip and that really plays huge when it%26#39;s 105 degrees and you want to walk about and check out other hotels. This time of year, go for the location and the pool and put up with a less-than-perfect room. You%26#39;re young, you%26#39;ll survive.

Here%26#39;s the bottom line: would you rather hang at the CC pool with an army of screaming brats or the Trop pool with a 20-ish, 30-ish crowd and swim-up blackjack? Case closed.

I%26#39;m in a similiar situation -- I%26#39;m 29 and will be staying at the Trop for a few days before I spring for a couple at the Venetian.

I have been to Vegas a few times. I think Circus Circus is creepy. Though I know people who have stayed there and they survived. The reason I wouldnt stay there (besides the creepy clowns) is the location (fine if you have been there before and know where to go) but I think it will leave you with a bad taste and make you wish you were somewhere better - in fact I would rather stay downtown or at The Frontier than CC.

Heres another thing. I have stayed at the Flamingo and I dont think its all that great. I mean, the pool is not what I would call amazing and it may be central but I still found it entirely hard to get around town from there without taking a taxi. I LOVE the part of the strip that is by Tropicana. Totally fun area and easier to get around cause of the monorail. I chose it (and maybe I am wrong) but am looking forward to the pool, I think I will be able to get past the room when I think of the cheap rates and mandalay bay and luxor and new york new york in walking distance/monorail distance!

Also, Golden Nugget downtown is probably better than Circus Circus. Man...I dont even know how Circus Circus is staying in business.
