Las Vegas for Thanksgiving!

I am thinking about planning a trip to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving (3 days, Wed., Thurs., Friday.) Anyone ever celebrated Thanksgiving in Las Vegas? Any suggestions on where to eat dinner on ';Turkey Day';. Wondering also about temperatures in November. Have been there in the summer only and didn%26#39;t like the 100 + degrees. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Have only stayed at Caesars Palace before and would love to try another hotel. Thanks again.

Las Vegas for Thanksgiving!

I spent many Thanksgiving vacation in Vegas but at a private home so I can%26#39;t help with a restaurant. I do know that the weather at that time of the year can be ';iffy.'; The average highs - low 60s. A few years the highs have reached the mid to upper 70s but other years the highs have never gone above the 40s! I would bring clothes that can be layered so you will be prepared for anything.

Here is a site that will tell you the average daily temps for November:

T-Week is a great time to stay at a luxury hotel for a discount price. First of all, the weather will be great kind of a mix between shorts and sweater around your waist. However because of the low capacity some restaurants will not be open, some shows will not be open and just my experience like any other job I believe some of the best employees take time off for the holidays. Overall I liked it (who can beat NFL and NCAA sportsbook on T-Day) but it was kind of weird with it being so slow.

Don%26#39;t count on the weather, it may be 40 or 70.

You will find a lot of resturants closed on T-Day. However about any of the buffets offer T-Day dinner. Oddly as it may seem the buffets and resturants will be packed as us locals come out of the woodwork, no one knows how to cook here. All buffets and restuarants prices will be elevated. The better resturants will require reservations.

We are going over Thanksgiving. We booked our hotel in Feb. cheap and the price has now risen $100.00. Were now just waiting to see if any specials come up. So prices may be starting to go up.

I had heard Thanksgiving was fairly busy but the weeks after were not. How far in advance should you book a restaurant.?

You could run into 55 degree highs and 30%26#39;s lows in Nov...forget about swimming pool in any case, around Thanksgiving

If you can afford Caesars Palace, then you can afford most...

Mirage is nice, older-but-well-kept like CP

I like the Rio a lot, but it is off-strip

Venetian has great, high priced, rooms also Wynn, Bellagio

More moderate but still very, very nice...Aladdin, Paris, TI, Mandalay Bay

As soon as the resturant will accept them.

We were in Vegas for Thanksgiving 2005. We stayed from Sunday - Friday. It was much busier than I thought it would be. The restaurants had long lines on Thanksgiving Day. We ate at the buffet at the Mirage for brunch - about $26/person - we only picked there because we happened to be walking by and there was no line. Everywhere we went was packed. I really didn%26#39;t expect the crowds... I figured that Vegas wouldn%26#39;t be crowded during a ';family'; holiday. I couldn%26#39;t have been more wrong.

DH said he won%26#39;t go back over Thanksgiving. Not sure if I would or not.

I%26#39;ve been in Vegas for a couple of Thanksgivings and would definitely go again. Of course, I don%26#39;t eat meat so it doesn%26#39;t bother me in the least not to have a traditional turkey dinner. My Thanksgiving feast last year consisted of edemame %26amp; maki at Sushi Roku. Yum!

As others have said, the weather is pretty unpredicatble that time of year, some places are closed (like Nobu where we initially planned to eat!) and there are some great prices to be found. We%26#39;ve stayed at the beginning of the Thanksgiving week and left on Friday, so we missed peak airfares %26amp; crowds. It seems like a lot of people much stay home until after the holiday itself and then hit town for the other 3 days.

I love a good value and like to get to Vegas as frequently as possible, so for me it%26#39;s a good time to visit. if I were only going to go once or even twice a year I might want to shoot for a time when there was a bit more business and a better guarantee of nice weather.
