Renting a car for one day while in Vegas. Plan is to rent a boat on Lake Mead for 1/2 day (4 hours) and then go onto Hoover Dam visitors centre followed by Valley of Fire Is this all possible in one day? I have no idea of distances in between if anyone can help..

If you rise at 4 a.m., get off the boat by 10 a.m., do the dam in about 3 hours, then head over to the Valley of Fire, you should be able to make it all before midnight, yeah.
I agree with the previous poster, skip the Valley of Fire. Or, rent the car for 2 days!
unless you do the 45 minute tour at the damn you dont need three hours there. Even with the 45 minute tour you could get out of the damn in less than three hours.
over planning is a kill-joy on vacation...less is more,
save it for another day or trip
