2nd visit - should we try a new hotel ???

Our group of 3 guys (mid/late 20%26#39;s) stayed at NYNY last year and pretty much loved it - rooms ok, great atmosphere although the casino could have been a bit bigger - mainly gambling and drinking.

We would happily stay there again but should you try a different hotel

each time you go to vegas - possibly downtown??

we%26#39;re considering going for a cheaper hotel to leave more gambling money..

For me (and lots of others) staying at new hotels on each trip is all part of the Vegas experience. Certainly until you%26#39;ve been several times and maybe found somewhere you know you like the best. I remember back in the early 90s staying at the Flamingo two trips running and whilst still having a great time I left feeling I%26#39;d missed out on an opportunity to stay somewhere new.

Try Downtown by all means, especially if you%26#39;re after value. I presume you visited there on your last trip and know the scene there. Remember if you stay there but are heading to the Strip a lot, those cab fares can soon mount up. If you want a cheaper place with easier Strip access maybe look at Gold Coast or Orleans with their shuttle buses.

If you stay at NYNY again, at least upgrade to a Player%26#39;s or Marquis suite (for the funky jacuzzi tub)

The problem I have with NYNY are the neighbors- Excalibur is not one of my favorites nor is MGM.

How about Ballys? That%26#39;s usually a couple dollars cheaper than NYNY and it%26#39;s in a much nicer location.

Flamingo is a GREAT choice for a group of guys...you are right in the middle of everything. If you don%26#39;t mind spending a bit more, Mandalay Bay has always has a great crowd of mostly 20 to 30 year olds. The Palms is also very hot right now!!

Golden Nugget downtown would be good as you guys would have a ball wandering around Fremont Street area between casinos livin it up. GN is also a 4 star hotel/casino at a 2 star price, certainly cheaper AND nicer than NYNY.

don%26#39;t stay downtown, or even visit

The best money you will spend in Vegas is getting a decent hotel

Check rates at MonteCarlo and Luxor near NYNY....they are nice and often have good rates...for cheapo, check Hooters, it would beat downtown or off strip. Flamingo is cheap, older but well located on strip. Harrahs, decent place mid-strip, might go low.

TI is very nice and great location, check to see if rates are good. Excalibur is well located, cheap, and utterly devoid of class or sparkle

Do not be tempted by low rates at ';3'; star hotels, 3 star means depressing 2nd rate place

Part of the fun of Vegas trips for me is trying out new hotels. On the Strip, Bally%26#39;s has been consistently the best value for money in my book, I love them.

The Golden Nugget downtown is always a winner, and it%26#39;s a lot easier to walk from casino to casino there than on the strip (it%26#39;s not two miles between each!) so if you plan to do a lot of drinking, it can be fun to have all of Fremont Street at your disposal without needing to worry about driving or cabs.

It%26#39;s expensive to stay at, but worth a trip out to Green Valley Ranch for the nightlife at Whiskey Bar/Whiskey Beach.

I think trying new hotels is a big part of the trip too . . . unless, of course, you absolutely LOVED NYNY.

I%26#39;d suggest TI for you guys.
