Just spoke to a friend who I introduced to Vegas for the first time in February. While I was being the ';big shot'; on the 25 cent black jack machines, she was playing 5 cent slots.
She was just invited to spend three nights free at Bellagio in July over a weekend for a slots tournament.
Am I bitter?
I'm playing the wrong machines!

I%26#39;m curious how much cash your friend ';left'; in the Bellagio machines in order to qualify for roughly $750 in free rooms?

I am too but don%26#39;t have the nerve to ask. I do know she spends a great deal of time gambling online and has visited numerous casinos on reservations. She is also known to spend some time in Charlestown, WVA at the racetrack.
';I am too but don%26#39;t have the nerve to ask';
OK, so you don%26#39;t but I do. Tell her staunchsteve gots to know...
ok, will see what I can find out. I do know that she was down about $600 at one point on the trip but that doesn%26#39;t seem like a lot in Bellagio terms. I think she mentioned by the end of the trip she was ahead.
Hey! I want IN on this!!! We%26#39;re staying at B in July, and I wasn%26#39;t planning on doing a lotta gambling there, but if I can get an invite for 3 nights to a slot tourn. there? THAT%26#39;S where I%26#39;ll be playing! Seriously, I%26#39;m curious too. I hope you can work up the nerve to ask. You can add Tipsie to the list of peeps that ';need to know';! :)
';Am I bitter?'; I%26#39;m taking that would be a yes!? lol
I%26#39;m going to have to rethink this whole slots thing. Maybe there is someone out there who can give us an idea of what it takes to be comped for rooms.
Could the deal be because it is a slots tournament, whatever that is?
damama, most slot tournaments (at least ones with good cash prizes) cost money to enter. The room is comped during the time of the tournament.......keep in mind though, entry fee!!! Could be that%26#39;s what she%26#39;s done but just told you about the comped room part!
Btw, I wanna know too!!!
damama: We came back from the Aladdin at the end of March getting our entire 5 night stay comped based on PENNY slot play. When we booked the room they comped Monday thru Wednesday based on previous play. At check out ,they took off Thursday and Friday nights. We basically play on one player%26#39;s card and that is the name that we book the room to. Slot players tend to bet faster than low limit or even mid level table players, so even though it sounds weird, a maximum bet slot player is actually spending faster than a $5 table player. Nothing to be bitter about; she (your friend) obviously dropped more money at nickel slots than you did at 25 cent blackjack. Nothing in life is free; hate to think about how much money a 5 night comp actually cost lol.
Will not deny we dropped a lot of money at Caesars in Feb. and now have 5 nights comped in Oct. (No fool here. I know I have either paid for those nights already or they anticipate my additional play in Oct. will pay for them.) I play mostly penny and nickel slots and my husband plays more of the high denomination slots. We start out with about the same budget and he sometimes he has more; however, I receive more comp points than he does. I believe the main reason is that I will sit at the same machine for a long time and he jumps from machine to machine. Theoretically, you could recycle the same $20 in a machine and get good comps. They count the money in and not what you take out to determine comps (as I understand it). If you put a $20 in and kept hitting enough to keep feeding the machine for several hours, you could earn comps on that $20. Doesn%26#39;t usually work that way for me, but there have been times that I recycled the same money for a rather long period of time. On the other hand you could go in, drop in $20 and on your first spin hit the jackpot, cash out and not put another coin in a machine. Would you get any comps? NO!
