Cliffs At Peace Canyon-Timeshare--Did We Make a Mistake?

We just booked a one bedroom at the Cliffs through RCI before I read any of the reviews. The reviews are very mixed. They baffle me because people really love the place and want to go back again, or they absolutely hate it.

We know it%26#39;s a little out from the action and we don%26#39;t mind as we are renting a car anyways and are also planning on spending a couple nights at the Golden Nugget after our week is over at the Cliffs. We have been to Vegas many times before and always at hotels. We are quite familiar with the Las Vegas area. During our time at the Cliffs we plan on taking some day trips away from Vegas as well as spending plenty of time on the strip and downtown.

Did we make a mistake? I have one day to cancel without penalty. I am a bit nervous over some of the negative reviews, however there are enough positive ones to still give me the feeling it is a very nice place to stay. Clean....it needs to be clean.

Can anyone give me some current info? Maybe a few reassurrances would be nice!!!

Does anyone have any current info for me?

Thanks in advance!

Cliffs At Peace Canyon-Timeshare--Did We Make a Mistake?

Cliffs is very nice. I took my g/f there in Oct. and we loved being able to get away from the strip at times. The rooms are great. A small apartment with a spanish style feel in design. We used the shuttle to the strip with no problem and didn%26#39;t rent a car. We stayed on the strip a few days but I didn%26#39;t mind one bit going back to the cliffs. It was like going home every night. One thing, stay away from the timeshare offers.

Tricia, you made an EXCELLANT choice. My hubby and I went last June and ABSOULUTELY loved it. In fact, we are going back in September for our anniversary and stying there again. Yes, it is about a 10-15 minute drive to the strip, but we were still able to see the Strat from our balcony and there wasn%26#39;t all that noise in the night either. I think you made a great choice and will NOT be disappointed at all.

Thanks for the heads up on this place. I feel much better now. It sounded like someplace we would like.

Tricia, you will absolutely LOVE it. Don%26#39;t worry about taking anything like dish soap or laundry stuff....they will provide minimal amounts of that, but there is a grocery store nearby that you can purchase all the incidentals and food you%26#39;d like. Have a wonderful Time!!!

Bellagio 'Spa' building?

I responded to a Bellagio email promotion and they said that the lake view room would be in a new Spa building rather than the main building. Should I pay the extra $50/night for this or stay in the non-lake view room in the main building?

thanks

Ken

Bellagio 'Spa' building?

Spa Tower is their newer tower and is nicer than the original tower. However, if you plan on going to a lot of other places than the walk to the front of the hotel can get old very fast.

Bellagio 'Spa' building?

Ks, anywhere you stay in Bellagio is nice. I stayed in the main building last year and had a lovely view of the pool area. The best thing about the B is the bed. I just couldn%26#39;t get out of bed on some mornings because it is so comfortable. The whole experience is very opulent.

I was trying to say the Spa Tower is an extra walk to the main area of Bellagio and to the north exit to CP. You will not have this problem in the main tower.

As everyone has mentioned, it is a long walk to the front of the hotel/casino. I almost felt like I was in a different hotel. I guess it has it%26#39;s own entrance into the pool area? I never noticed. But I enjoyed my pool/mountain view very much in the main building. Do you even get a full lake view? I think it%26#39;s partial from the spa tower. You are quite off to the side of the fountains. Who knows, you can book a non lake view, but may be lucky enough to get upgraded for free when you check in. It all depends on how busy the hotel is.

What promotion was it?

I have stayed in both parts and although the spa tower is a little nicer both are great. The older part is closer to the free refills of coffee in the gelato shop.

Do any casinos have any child care facilities for children in Reno?

Are there any childcare facilities like kidsquest in Reno?

I don%26#39;t know of any child care facilities that watch your kids.

The Reno Hilton, though, has a lot of things for kids. They have a large arcarde area that also has LazerTag. They have a bowling alley, pool, minigolf and bungee jumping

    Thanks for the info.

    Good Restaurants/Buffets in Henderson

    Hello,

Travelling to Las Vegas next week for three days, staying in Henderson. Can anyone recommend a good buffet restaurant there?

    Thanks.

  • Top of the World/Stratosphere restaurant

I%26#39;m planning on dining here over the summer. I%26#39;ve already made reservations and was told that the window seats couldn%26#39;t be reserved. Does anyone have any idea on how much you would tip the maitre%26#39;d to get a window seat. There will be four of us.

    Top of the World/Stratosphere restaurant

I would like to know this as well. I have reservations for 9pm at night and I was inclined to just wait until a window seat would be available.

This is a good post and a good question.

I don%26#39;t know the answer, but I%26#39;m interested as well.

I don%26#39;t know the answer but, I can tell you that you have a great view from every seat. The restaurant moves so, your view will change as you are eating. Just to put my two cents in......I would recommend

Alize at the Palms or Mix at Mandalay Bay. The food at TOW is just ok. You are definitely paying for the view.

had drinks at both last month. i would seriously consider mix.

Thanks for the info- we%26#39;ll probably try both places. We%26#39;re staying at the hotel at mandalay bay and we were planning on going to the mix anyway. What can you give me for info on the mix- bottle service, long lines, etc. We would like to sit at a table and enjoy a few drinks.

We had dinner there last year. I think it is pot luck where you get seated. It is really nice to have dinner up there and see Vegas from above. You dont really feel it is moving either. Food was good from what I remember. The only negative I had with it was that it was very dark inside. I like a nice romantic setting but I struggled to see across the table!

I made my reservation for 5:30, as soon as they opened for dinner, we were the 2nd ones there and we could sit anywhere we wanted. We had the dinner for 2, which was the Chateau Brion(spelling), it was great!!! Didn%26#39;t have to tip to sit there either.

Eaten there a few times and just asked for a window table when booking - never seems to be a problem

We%26#39;ve dined here a few times and you don%26#39;t have to tip huge to get a window seat - just be prepared for a wait. They give you a pager and page you when a table becomes available. Although they sometimes tell you the wait is up to an hour, we%26#39;ve never had to wait much longer than 30 - 45 minutes. It%26#39;s worth it!!

    25 hours til touchdown, 6/7/06

Get ready Vegas, 10 Connecticutians are on their way to Sin City. This will be my fourth trip in three years and I am looking forward to seeing all the locals once again -- Big Elvis and The little Oriental Lady at the Nine Fine Irishmen! I have read a few posts about her and everything you read is pretty much true. The best thing about her is that she loves to party the night away, dancing with anyone that will give her the time. To top it off, she does not %26#39;socialize%26#39; for drinks or any money... just to have fun and make your trip that more enjoyable.

don%26#39;t forget to write your trip report when you get back, ....

that is the reason we all wake up day after day, isn%26#39;t it??

    Diamond Wing at Harrah's

This week-end I%26#39;m staying in a room located on Harrah%26#39;s Diamond Wing.

Has anyone stayed on this wing before?

    Are the rooms nicer?

    Is the area more quite?

    Thanks!

    Diamond Wing at Harrah's

Harrah%26#39;s ';Diamond wing'; is the 23rd or 25th floor in the Mardi Gras tower. (I forget which) The rooms are bigger but a few sq. feet and they have a strip view. That%26#39;s about all thye difference..But it is nice to have a bit bigger rooms as the rooms in Harrah%26#39;s are rather small.

    Thanks for the input!

I booked last minute %26amp; at least I got a comped room.
