July 4th weekend..Will it be as crowded as Memorial Day...

I went to Vegas for Memorial Day weekend and was so annoyed with the crowds that I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ll ever go back that weekend.

Keep in mind that I';ve been to vegas several times this year

January for boxing

March for Nascar

December when the Rodeo is in town

How is the 4th of July weekend in comparison?

I will there from Friday June 30th - Tuesday July 4th with 10 girlfriends.

Staying at the Venetian friday night and the Fairfield for the rest of the nights.

We will probably want some pool time, may possibly want to go to a spa and we want to go clubbing as well.

Any advice? suggestions??

If you experienced the National Finals and Memorial Day was worse, I am glad I did not go.

4th is no big thing in Vegas. A few Hotels have fireworks, but really nothing to write home about. It seems to a normal week. You get a lot of the CA people in town. I go on the 4th and it is hot, but not like Aug. You said you go often, therefore you know most of the clubs. CP, MGM and MB have some great clubs. Pool @ V is great, so I would think you all would get burned the first day. I do not know anything about the Fairfield in Vegas, but it should have a small pool. You will be close to Hard Rock so you can try it out.

I was there for the 4th last year and will never do it again. I have never seen so many people in my life!! Even though the 4th is no big deal on the strip, most of the tourists must not know it, as it appeared to have twice the number of people it normally does. I could not walk two feet without getting bumped into and I felt like I was constantly sandwiched inbetween people. If you are not a fan of crowds, I would not recommend it.

As long as the 4th doesn%26#39;t fall between Friday and Monday for a 3-day weekend, it will be slow.

WOW!

EE%26lt;3Vegas you thought Memorial Day was crowded?

I guess you come from AZ where there is a lot less people. But I cam from Chicago. I thought the city was empty.

We ate in Royal Star at the Venetian. only 6 tables at 8:30. mesa grill at ceasers. 9 PM walked in. no reservation. it did not even seem like Pure @ ceasers was open at all. we went through on sun and mon nights. no one there. Like they knew it was a dead time, and just closed it up. TAO at Venetian was busy.

but the casinos in general were pretty empty. Venetian, Ceasers, Bellagio... at night pretty empty. sun, mon, tue. lots of tables open. dealers waiting for people.

why did you think it was busy?

In comparison to all the other non holiday weekends I have been to vegas there just seemed to be more people around. Then again I did more walking around than usual too (I was showing around some friends who are not vegas regulars like myself)

I usually just hang out at my favorite spots.

The wait for food wasn%26#39;t too bad though (as you mentioned)

In retrospect, I should%26#39;ve planned the club outings better. I usually like to make sure I am on a list and that I get there early. This next trip will for sure be more organized.

I am wondering about crowds as well. Don%26#39;t know if I should book dining reservations in advance. We will be there July 2 - 6. We were there on Valentine%26#39;s Day weekend and dining reservations were a must.

We have been there last year for the forth stayed at MB the only crowd issue was the pool. Did not have reservation for the CC Steakhouse but did not have to wait. We are there again this forth.

I was assuming the pool is going to be crowded.

thanks for the posts everyone!

I%26#39;m also going to be there on the fourth, already made dinner resos, but they seemed to be wide open for times. Stayinga t the MGM, I hope the adult pool isn%26#39;t going to be an issue.

As far as I saw it was very empty.

like I said. most resturants you could just walk in. if you wanted to eat at 8-10PM.

on sunday all the resturants in the Venetian were empty. we ate at royal stay. 6 tables.

On tuesday we hung at the MC brew pub during the day. there was like 2 tables taken. we had to sit at the bar. because we did not eat food. but really dead.

the only place we saw people was in line for TAO on sunday. maybe because other clubs were closed. like I said, it did not seem like Pure was even open, sun/mon/tue.

and on tuesday night we wanted to go to the Bellagio buffett. that had a big line. most likley for the same reason we wanted to go on tuesday. avoid the sun/mon hike in price. for the ';special'; holiday rates.

i think overall when a huge convetion is in town it is a lot more crowded. the business people with expense accounts. taking up the resturants.
