I just returned this evening from 4 of the best nights I%26#39;ve ever had in Vegas. This was my hubbie and I%26#39;s 5th or 6th trip and we now know what we do and don%26#39;t like to make for a pleasurable trip. We traveled with another couple who have also been to Vegas several times.
Day One Thur - Get in to the airport at about 8:00pm on Southwest. Took a $20 cab ride to Bellagio via freeway. Check in was smooth, just about a 10 min wait. Asked for line pass and received it. We paid for a lake view room and were given 14070 (14th floor) our friends were upgraded to a lake view room on 11th floor with great views. Watching the fountians from our room was one of our favorite things. a lake view is a must! We caught a cab to Freemont street and experienced that for the 1st time. It was a good time. I enjoyed the yard long margaritas %26amp; mudslides. The deep Fried twinkie was too sweet for even me but I tried it. I like the casual anything goes feel of the area but wouldn%26#39;t want to stay down there.
On the room - large size, very nice bed, and quite a large bathroom. Some downsides were our mini bar was locked and not unlocked until the 3rd day there. The maid closet was across from our room and we were jolted awake by how loud they were each morning at about 8:00. If the do not desturb sign wasn%26#39;t on they would come in while we were still sleeping. Our sink had a glug, glug, glug sound when ever the water was used in an ajoining room nd a high pitched noise followed by clanking about 3 times a night. THis required the bathroom door to remain shut at all times while in the room. we were on a smoking floor even though requested non but the room did not smell like smoke at all, hallway was a different story.
Day Two Fri - Started with the Bellagio Buffett for breakfast and wasn%26#39;t disappointed. We then checked into our cabana for the day. I had some pre-trip doubts about this and I can tell you it was worth EVERY penny. This was all of our favorite day in Vegas. The Cabana comes with 4 mattress cooshy lounge chairs on the little raised pattio out front with an umbrella and misters. In side is a night couch, table with 4 chairs mini bar with sink, stocked towels, stocked fridge, basket of snacks and playing cards, safe, changing room, and two floating beds for the pool. We stayed down there until our attendant Eric kicked us out, ha ha. We just loved it. We swam, layed out, had lunch brought and drinks. Then when that got old (ha ha ha) we went in to play cards at the table, stop repeat. It was just heaven and I highly recomend spending the money. You%26#39;ll feel pampered and rested.
After the pool we washed off the sun block and headed to the Venitian for dinner at Canneleto and a gondola ride. Dinner was good service unfriendly. Then on to the Siren show at TI, what a horrible show! I;m glad we got into the VIP area with our room card cause waiting for that show would have been a complete waste. The old show was better. I wanted to personally pull the kids watching out of there. It was an adult show getting away with as much as they could. Cheesy songs it was just bad.
more to come tomorrow...
6/1-5 Trip Report Bellagio Part I - Long
Nice report
6/1-5 Trip Report Bellagio Part I - Long
Great TR! We are staying there in July and I just can%26#39;t wait!!! Do you mind if I ask how much the cabana was? It%26#39;ll just be the two of us, so I doubt we%26#39;ll be able to justify the expense, however, it does sound heavenly! My idea of the ultimate vacation!
You stated you asked for a ';line pass'; and got it. What exactly does this mean? I%26#39;m assuming it means you get to jump to the front of the line...but do you specify where to...or do you just get a general line pass that you are able to use anywhere at the Bellagio where there is a line? Thanks for any info!
I did ask for a lakeview room, but was told there were none available. :( They said to ask upon check in, as sometimes there are cancellations. At the time, we have a pool view room.
Thanks for the trip report...we are going to Vegas on 24th June for the 1st time and will be staying at the Bellagio. WE have a Lake View Room and have requested a high floor room, is the higher the room the better the view or does it not really matter???
do you get into the VIP area of the TI pirate show with a Bellagio room key?
sc
if you go to the TI, Mirage, Bellagio, MC, or a few other websites, you will see all of the ';linked'; properties. If you are staying at one of them that are mutually owned, you can get into VIP. (not that anyone should go see that abomination of a show)
This sentence was really confusing to me-
';This was my hubbie and I%26#39;s 5th or 6th trip and we now know what we do and don%26#39;t like to make for a pleasurable trip.';
I think some of the vegas drinks took their toll! Ha!
I%26#39;d also like to know how much a cabana costs. And, you mentioned that there were lots of things in there, stocked mini-bar %26amp; fridge, etc. Were these included in the price of the cabana? (i%26#39;m guessing they weren%26#39;t buy you never know!) :o)
I%26#39;m hoping to return to the Bellagio next year for my 30th with a group of friends!

Here are the details I left out of the cabana report.
Cost - $350 a day F-Sun or $300 M-Th. To get one you need to ask to be put on the list, no reservation gaurentee%26#39;s available. If there are any left open from the High Rollers the people will call you between 8-9 am to confirm you want it. I suggest putting yourself on the list for several days incase you don%26#39;t get your first pick.
Included in the snack bowl was red vines, Bellagio honey roasted peanuts, Nature Valley granola bars, pringles, and playing cards. The fridge had 24 assorted sodas and bottled water. They were happy to trade out some of the soda%26#39;s for diet coke at no charge. All of this is included in the cost of the cabana. Anything like lunch or from the bar menu being brought to you, you%26#39;ll pay extra for and room service charges do apply.
We ate breakfast at the buffet lunched on the snacks and headed out to an early dinner. They guys did order a buger at the pool but us girls were happy with the snacks.
Line Pass - The line pass was checked for the buffet or cafe. This save us hours! The pass was never even looked at when we got to the head of the line and never collected. Since the couple we were with had been given one too we passed on some good travel carma and handed ours to a nice looking couple at the very end of the 1.5 hour wait buffet line as we left.
Seattle -- thanks so much for your info, especially on the cabana. We will be there in August %26amp; I will definitely want to reserve one! :-)
Thank you for the info! I%26#39;m trying to talk fiance into putting our name on the cabana list. If we%26#39;re winning at the point we get a cabana (IF we get one!), then we%26#39;ll take it. If we%26#39;re down, we won%26#39;t. So far, he%26#39;s not bitin! :)
Dietcoke,
We actually like the 12th floor for the fountains. IMO it%26#39;s a better angle for the view. If you are a lot hight than that, you%26#39;re looking down on the show too much....still nice....
