is the pool still open the first week of october. i hear tube rentals for the lazy river are outrageous, do they allow you to bring your own inflatables?...also we have the option of staying at the mirage for a little more money probably only swimming one day is it worth it/
monte carlo pool
Yes, under usual circumstances the pool will be open. I just returned from MC, and as I recall the rental was $10 per day for floats. The staff was oblivious to everything going on at the pool, so I%26#39;m sure you could bring in your own float. I havent been to the Mirage, but I thought the MC pool was terrible- trash and wet towels everywhere. I wouldnt go back. The only plus is if you have kid%26#39;s, they will be welcome. MGM Grand can be similarly priced and the pool is a HUGE step up.
monte carlo pool
I agree with the above post and do not like the Monte Carlo pool at all. The layout was terrible and it was dirty by noon.
Per vegas.com: Hours vary by season. The heated pool and jacuzzi are open year-round. I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll have a problem bringing an inflatable. I saw kids with their own when I was there.
When I stayed at the MC I never ventured down to the pool but from what I could see from our room, it was a good thing we didn%26#39;t. Looked crowded and not very inviting.
i%26#39;ve stayed there twice and did go down to the pool. Didn%26#39;t enjoy it at all. Crowded is the key word. We did rent a float, but who wants to float around while worrying about which kid is going to run into you next? We had to put our lounge chairs at the back by their rocky waterfall thing, far from the water. Not enjoyable. Definitely try to stay at the Mirage if you can if the price difference is minimal.
is there a wave pool there?
we were hanging out at the brew pub. walked out the door right by it. and into the pool area. no one checked us. wierd.
the lazy river was closed. and we walked around. we saw a tennis court that was setup for lounge chairs.
but we did not see a wave pool.
does someone know? or where it is?
We had lunch at the MC Brew Pub last year, and sat outside by the pool area. It was very crowded, and very noisy, lots of screaming, yelling kids (for the record, I have nothing against kids, or even kids in Vegas). I would be interested in staying at MC in the future, but only when pools are out of season. It would drive me nuts to be at that pool. MGM pools were soooo much better.
Gregdove~ they do have a wave pool. I stayed there during the week once, and had a great experience at the pool. It wasn%26#39;t busy though, which I%26#39;m sure had a LOT to do with my enjoyment!

where was it? if you follow the lazy river around. was it back by that tennis court?
Just got back, and although we stayed at MGM, four of our friends stayed at the Monte Carlo. They were not impressed with the Monte Carlo pool. They said it was all crammed into an area that was too small. Also, the lazy river was out of order the whole trip. They were told the first day they were there, that some blasting done next door had damaged it and it would be up and running the next day, well five days later, it was still down.
A note about the MGM pool. Tubes and rafts are $18 per day, and they do not let you bring your own into the pool. A lady had brought her own and the life guard made her take it out, and told her only MGM rafts could be used (that was on the lazy river, not sure about the pools). I guess they don%26#39;t make enough from the gambling and overpriced restaurants! Don%26#39;t get me wrong, I love the MGM and it%26#39;s pool area, but not the raft rental policy.
Is it less crowded in the morning, or just crowded all the time?
