Hotel reservations

We are a family group of 4 (all adults) travelling to Las Vegas from the U.K. in April 2007, having already booked our flights.

Should we book our (2 rooms) hotel accommodation now or later in the year to get the best rates. Or, is it best to book early 2007? We notice some hotels do not yet seem to have April 2007 loaded on to their on line booking service. We believe over the Easter break Vegas will be busy?

Also, in order to get the most attractice price, should we book direct with the hotel or through Expedia or any of the many other similar agents?

Any advice gratefully received.

Hotel reservations

I would wait a bit. You are still almopst a year away. Start checking in December and then book by Jan. 07. I usually find the best deals on the direct hotels website, but you have ample time to price comparison shop.

Keep reading this forum for tips on las vegas and special rate codes that people post. You may find a sweet deal here too.

Hotel reservations

I wouldn%26#39;t book this early. Wait until the November or December. Most people prefer to deal with the hotel directly. If you do this and the prices drop, you can call the hotel and they will usually give you the lower rate. If you find a better deal at another hotel you can cancel within the cancellation period (48-72 hours although it may be different around the holidays).

Keep looking for codes listed on this forum and sign up for any e-mail notifications on the hotels web sites.

Consider this Vegasfans: If you book now you secure the rooms. Sometimes whole conventions can change availabily overnite. You can always renegotiate the price if it goes down. Also, unlike hotels elsewhere, some Vegas hotels do not charge you card when you book. See if this is the case. If they do, then by booking now you are having that cost to carry for months. Lastly, always start with the hotel itself. Then compare. Good luck

Since you already have your flights, I would go ahead and book rooms at a few places. You can always cancel if you book directly with them.

Also, (not sure if someone mentioned) sign up for email promotions and they will send you their specials.

I agree - book directly with a hotel you can live with at a rate you can live with now. Then you know what to budget for accomodations.

Around December start looking for promotions, etc and see if you can get a cheaper rate. If you book directly with the hotel you can cancel and/or adjust your reservation until 48 hours before you arrive. If you can get a cheaper rate than you booked now, then you%26#39;ve just gotten a bonus you can use towards gambling or nice dinners!

Promo codes for April will start coming out in January or February.

Over the Easter break Vegas will be quite busy.

Booking with Expedia, etc, is definately a viable option, but I would book cancelable reservations (with no penalty for cancellation until 48 hours before arrival) directly with your hotel until you are much much closer to your date.

Also check with the hotels in question (on their websites), many of them have a best rate guarentee and will match and/or beat any expedia.com like website if you find a better price within 24 hours of making your reservation with the hotel. The best way to do this is to find the cheaper rate, THEN book with the hotel and immediately submit the best rate guarentee paperwork. If you%26#39;ve already booked with the hotel and find a rate that is better than the current rate, you can always cancel, rebook, and then submit the paperwork.

I agree-book now if directly with hotel, and they have a 48 hr. cancellation policy; then start checking for cheaper rates about Dec. I got my April res. at it%26#39;s lowest price just after Christmas last year.
