my previous topic got lost - must have pressed wrong button.
My cousin (age 63) and I (age 62) are spending three nights Wed MAy 23 - Sat May 6 2007 in Vegas. Hotels won%26#39;t let me book until 10 months out. Looking for convenient hotel on the monorail as we both have trouble walking distances. I don%26#39;t t want off strip or downtown.
I know that Fri night will be more than Wed %26amp; Thur. Looking in overall range $85-$100 per night for a standard room with AAA/AARP discount. I don%26#39;t want to book on line - rather book direct in case our plans have to change.
Looking at the Las Vegas Hotel as we are both trekkies and plan to spend one morning at the Star Trek Experience. Other possibility is the Sahara which seems to post good rates. Any others on Monorail that we should consider? We both have traveled alot and don%26#39;t need glamorous rooms on this trip - just two clean beds and convenientce that won%26#39;t wear us out trying to get around.
We have a car %26amp; plan to spend a morning at Liberace Museum, and drive to Red Rock Canyon - it that where the begging burros are?
My cousin wants to see a Cirque show and postings seem to prefer Mystere. We also talking about Celene Dion. I know that her show was desined by the Cirque people so other than Celene%26#39;s music - will we be disappointed because of similaries in staging if we see both?
Suggestions for hotels %26amp; shows?
I meant Las Vegas Hilton Hotel.
Also is the Steakhouse at Circus Circus really good? I stayed there at CC once at it was dirty and full of kids.
Also postings on Mon Ami Gabi - one said $70 is that just the entree? or with wine %26amp; desset? will consider it - but don%26#39;t want a $100 per person dinner.
There seems to be a difference of opinion - best buffet - Aladdin or Wynn? Anybody who can rate the buffets? Hard to make a choice.
