Just wondering if anyone has flown this newer airline and what their experience was like?

Airtan is not that new. We have flown them many times , but not to Vegas. I like the fact that you can purchase a one way ticket at half the cost of round trip. Not to scare you, but this used to be the old Value Jet airlines

They are a charter airline with no frills but you can%26#39;t beat the value. I would use them again. Since it is a charter, you can%26#39;t miss the flight or you may be out of luck.

They are not a charter. They fly a regular schedule with many flights connecting through ATL. They do not fly to Vegas.

what is happening here???with all do respect we have folks asking for guideance and they deserve accuracy...Air tran is not new...it is NOT a charter airline...they certainly do service vegas...and, they are a terrible airline

I apologize, they DO fly out fo several cities to LAS.

We can get to Vegas on Air Tran from Ft. Lauderdale, having to change planes in Atlanta- and I would agree that they are not a charter. We only are able to get one flight a day I believe, and last I checked the one returning was a red eye, so that does not appeal to us. We shared an airport shuttle with some folks who were flying Air Tran and they said it was their airline of choice and that the flight attendents conduct drawings and the like on board and that there is generally a party atmosphere. We%26#39;ve never flown on them , but I am sure it is not helpful to me to have someone tell me they are ';a terrible airline'; without being specific as to why. Some things like a lack of a movie or no food service would not bother me if the price were right.( I prefer to bring my own food anyway) Some folks call Southwest ';terrible'; because there are no reserved seats, but we prefer that. So, if the poster could expand on why Air Tran is terrible, I%26#39;d appreciate the information so I can decide for myself. AirTran flights are regularly listed on Travelocity. and I am not aware that they list charters.

I love Airtran. I have flown them from Raleigh, NC to ATL many times. They have great prices and I have never had a problem with them. I will be flying with them to Vegas at the end of July. I actually prefer them.

AirTran used to be known as ValuJet before they had some bad PR due to a crash in the Everglades due to maintenance issues. Google them as Valujet and see what you get.

I would walk b4 I would use Air Tran. Connecting flight from Atlanta to Florida was cancelled, was late when we arrived in Atlanta and all Gate agents went home. No one left to help us out, had to fend for ourselves. I used to be a Travel Agent and many bad experience with them then as well. They are not new, and yes the used to be Value Jet.
