fitzgeralds/cab fare downtown to strip

i remember there being 4 main downtown hotels, golden nugget, binions, four queens is fitzgeralds the 4th? We are thinking of staying there just trying to figure out location. Also what is the average cab fare from hotel to midstrip say Bellagio? We are trying to save money by staying downtown but don%26#39;t want to make up for it with cab fare everyday. Any opionions on the Fitzgerald?

Cab fare would run you about $17-20 with tip. To save money without wasting too much time you could use a combination of the bus and monorail. Take the bus to the Sahara and take the monorail from there to the rest of the strip.

Depending on when you go, you won%26#39;t really save money staying downtown if you really want to be on the strip.

I agree- about 20 - 25 one way was our experience from the Nugget cab stand. It can be pretty pricey. You may take the bus to the strip (the deuce) when you have patience and energy, and then cab it back when you don%26#39;t feel like being in the cattle car.

More than just 4, Downtown Hotels Including:

Plaza

Golden Gate

Las Vegas Club

California

Main Street Station

Fremont

Golden Nugget

Binions

Fitzgeralds

Four Queens

Gold Spike

Western

El Cortez

Each has its own unique charms and particular quaities which can be either pluses or minuses depending on what you have in mind. Everyone%26#39;s answer is different on this question.

If you plan to play on the strip then stay there. There are deals there to if you shop around and have an open mind. The waste of time and money to commute while you are on vacation is just not worth it.
