Bf and I are staying at the Venetian this summer and want to have one really nice dinner there. Perusing the website, I have narrowed it down to:
Valentino
Lutece
Zeffirino
Tao
I like the idea of the ';outside'; (but inside) seating at Lutece and the view/atmosphere at Zeffirino but Valentino has the most options for me on their ';grill'; menu (I%26#39;m a VERY picky eater, I don%26#39;t eat red meat and I%26#39;m not huge on seafood). Not sure if the atmosphere at Valentino is as nice as the others though (just going by website pics).
I really want to eat at Tao, and it has lots of choices for me on their menu, but I wonder if it might be too trendy for the bf since he%26#39;s more of a classic guy.
Any insight on these restaurants?

I ate at the Zeffirino in April. The food looks good but is tasteless. I also was turned off because we had a $150 comp and the bill was $154 and they gave us a bill for the $4!! That was so tacky dont you think? I can see if it was 10 or more bucks more than the comp, but 4$?? It was 3 of us eating and we all agreed that we were disappointed. Never ate at the other places. the atmosphere was nice, we could see and hear the gondolas and singers out the window we sat by. Have a great trip! Oh I also did not see any vegtarian dishes, which I also would have liked.

I stayed at the Venetian during Memorial day week-end %26amp; I think Tao would be a great place to go.
It has a fun atmosphere, the food is good %26amp; looks amazing.
It really is something to see.
Go as early as possible if you don%26#39;t want to worry about the whole ';trendy'; thing.
Because once people start going into the nightclub upstairs the place does start to change.
Thanks to you both. That IS tacky about the $4, by the way...
Delmonico is actually very good as well, we have agreat meal here (albeit red meat). Great atmosphere. If you eat outside during the summer, good luck!
Oh, I meant it ';looks'; outside (the restaurant has a terrace that overlooks the gondolas and whatnot in the Venetian). No way would I want to eat outside in the heat!
We were there in Feb. and ate at Zefferino%26#39;s. It is mostly seafood.(italian) My hubby and I both ordered seafood dishes and his was entirely IN THE SHELLS. He got tired of taking everything out of the shell. Mine was partly shelled. It was a pain. We will not go back because of this. When we go out, we don%26#39;t want to do all the work! I wish I could remember the names of the dishes, sorry.
We tried to get into Delmonico%26#39;s, but they were full about a month in advance.
We did Bouchon for breakfast and it was great. The casual restaurant was very good too. Sister to Cheesecake Factory. Lots of choices, but not fancy at all.
Why are you limiting your one really nice restaurant to the Venetian??? Just because you are staying there doesn%26#39;t mean you have to eat there. The restaurants at all casinos are open to the public, so you%26#39;ll have the option of dining at any casino on the strip. The Venetian is also centrally located on the strip, so you%26#39;ll be in walking distance of within about 100 high end restaurants.
It just doesn%26#39;t make sense to limit your choices to the Venetian. Bellagio, Wynn, Caesars, and Paris are all within a block of each other and have countless other options. I would advise shopping around a little more before to decide to eat at one of the places at Venetian.
I hope I didn%26#39;t make your decision more difficult, but I know there are better restuarants in Vegas than what the Venetian has to offer.
Hope that helps
IMO there are only two places worth eating at.
Royal star is some of the best Dim Sum in town, very expensive.
Grand Lux Cafe is pretty good, huge portions, and they are very proud of the Cafe food $$.
Otherwise I would skip every other restaurant in the joint because there are much better places for a whole lot less money.
We of course plan on eating elsewhere, not just at the Venetian, but wanted to try at least one restaurant there.
Thinking about Bobby Flay%26#39;s restaurant, maybe one of the restaurants at Bellagio and probably Mon Ami Gabi at Paris...still have to do some more research though!
