should i rent a car?

i%26#39;m thinking it will be cheaper to just rent a car for 4 days i am there. by the time i get a cab both ways to TI, drive round trip once to downtown. and maybe drive to rio or hard rock....

it will be about same price.

i drive in nyc so traffic i can live with....

or should i just cab it everywhere and not worry.

should i rent a car?

Taking cabs means you can have a drink...

should i rent a car?

We always rent a car. It gives you much more flexibility. You can go where you want...when you want....and not have to wait for a taxi. Also there is not tipping to deal with. Rent a car. They are very cheap there.

Try Priceline.com. I got a Economy Rental for $11/day for two days. This is for a Thursday a.m. - Saturday a.m. rental.

is it free to park in all the casinos?

I say do NOT rent a car (unless you are taking a side trip.) See: - -http://lasvegas4newbies.com/chap4-1.html - - and - - http://lasvegas4newbies.com/chap4-4.html - - Most things you will want to see can be easily reached by monorail, tram, strip bus ';The Deuce'; (double-decker bus that travels the strip) or shuttle.

Hi- yes it is free to park in the casinos. If you decide to valet park you just tip a couple of dollars-here is my opinion on renting a car.

We always rent in Vegas. The freedom and flexibility of having a car at your disposal is great. You are right to figure it against the cost of cabing it. As for other means (monorail, Deuce bus, trams etc-MORE trouble than they are worth)

We just made our 11th trip in May- again had a terrific experience with renting- this time I booked through Dollar- booked a compact for 5 days- it came to $93 with all fees and taxes(excluding coll. waiver) I booked directly thru their site- rebooked twice as the rates often come down(this time $32)

We had our luggage and rental car and were on our way to our hotel in about 35 minutes-

Should mention that there was no compact availabel when we got to lot so they gave us a Jeep Grand Cherokee -no additional charge

We are not big drinkers so any drinking we did do was back at the Monte Carlo when we were there for the night-

we often put 200-300 miles on a rental- this time we went out to Red Rock Casino, looked at condos in Summerlin and drove around some so the car is well worth the price.

We never had a problem self parking and traffic is not so horrendous on the Strip all the time-besides even when it was heavy we were never in such a hurry that it was an issue-

Hope this helps-

If you have any trips that do no have invole alcohol off strip then yes.

We did and did not regret it after being long hauled. :(

I have always rented a car (over 50 trips). I like not having to take a crowded-often very slow-bus, pay for a cab , take a hike to a monorail station, etc. When I want to go someplace- I can just get in my car and go. It allows me to go to off strip attractions, casinos and restaurants. The airconditioner feels so good during the summer-beats walking! O.K.- it doesn%26#39;t really replace all the walking you will do but it sure helps.

Parking is free (or for a tip if you valet park), the parking is convenient and renting a car is certainly cheap in Vegas. I would never go without renting one-ever!

We are looking forward to having a car this trip. Will just leave it in the garage at night when we want to party. I have one reserved for next week for 15.48 a day through dollar

We rented a car. We stayed Downtown and drove to the Strip 2 nights. Drinking was not a major issue, so that didn%26#39;t enter into the decision. Go see Hoover Dam or Red Rock Canyon. Both of those places are great to see. Self park or valet park. Both are pretty easy. The traffic was busy at night, but we just took our time. Have fun!
