We have 3 kids ages 12, 10, %26amp; 8. Never been to Vegas. Any suggestions on family friendly hotels and entertainment for the kids?
Best hotel and entertainment for family of 5 in Las Vegas?
you will find by doing a search in the box at the top you will get atleast 1000 posts on children in vegas. personnally i would prefer a state law banning kids from being anywhere on the strip or anywhere in hotels public areas after 7.00pm. but i dont have kids. when i do i will take them to disney world or some other kid friendly place.
hmm unless this is a joke. i see this is your first post, are you what they call a troll?

MGM, Monte Carlo, Bellagio would be my suggestions, they all have arcades and nice pools. Entertainment - Lance Burton, Mac King, Mystere.
We go every year 2 or 3 times. We have taken are son every time (now 16). Here is his take on vegas:
Early years (8-9) love Luxor. Has a large arcade and next to NYNY%26#39;s arcade.
(10-13) always want MGM for the lazy river and the arcade was not bad. ( it has security there also). They have a CBS showroom where you can view and rate upcoming TV shows. (kills about an hour) He always remembers rating ';Big Brother'; and a couple other shows. MGM is also nest to ';Gameworks'; the large arcade, but you will want to be with them for safety.
13-14 Still MGM, but likes to go to NYNY for the ESPN ZONE game room. (I like it also).
15 and present (how times fly and interest change) Likes Mandalay for the beach and the girls!
As to a parents point of few. We always felt safe @MGM. They even used to have a ';kids'; room with basketball court and other stuff. The Luxor has a lot to offer children. Large arcade, IMAX and some walk through shows. It also sits next to Excalibur, which for the younger ones, it has a large gane area. Nonte Carlo has small lazt river and small wave pool. It has an arcade, but very small.
Dare I say it, but Circus Circus is interesting for keeping them entertained, but ti is at the other end from MGM, et al.
Most hotels have the fast food type dining for kids. There is a ';jousting, mid-evil time show'; @ Excal where you can eat and watch the show. Meal nothing to write about though. M%26amp;M %26amp; Coke has a store near MGM as well as a NIKE store. There is an antique car show @ the IP if they like cars. C. Place has a lot of stores and a free roman god show to watch next to the Cheescake factory where they will love the sweets.
Hope this helps.
You will get a lot of negative comments about bringing kids to Vegas, just ignore them.
My sister and I are head to Vegas in 17 days with 5 kids (11, 10, 9, 7 and 6) for 6 days. My mom will be there too. For the second year we are staying at the Excalibur due to:
1. Great location on the strip to other hotels and cross over bridges
2. Great food court with the kid%26#39;s favorites
3. The theme is the favorite of the two youngest kids.
4. The Luxor is next door and the two middle kids love Egypt
5. The best fairway style arcade with tons of great games
6. Very nice pool withshade, a slide and good menu for lunch
7. We plan to try the jousting dinner this time
Be sure to:
Keep the kids off the strip by 8pm
Visit the Water Show at Bellagio
Try to remember it%26#39;s an adult play ground and the general attitude towards kids is not a welcom one.
Bring travel games or puzzles for your room at night, that was a huge hit with the 5 cousins.
Rotate an adult staying with the kids at night, so the other one can enjoy some gambling after 9pm. That was one of my favorite parts and we all got plenty of time that way.
Enjoy yourself!
Excaliur, they%26#39;ll love it!
I meant Excalibur, sorry!
Try the Orleans..they have a huge cinema complex, a bowling alley, kids club thingy....good pool and shuttles to the strip.
Keep the kids off the strip at night....besides the drunks and unsociables partying in the streets......there are also the adults who wished u had taken your kids to Disney. No one wants to hear the sound of a tired whiney kid when they are heading for a night out!
Excalibur and Circus Circus also have plenty to do for kids, but the hotels are quite dumpy......
i am sorry for the post by Kevin_neuk
you would not appear to be a troll or a joke.
Kevin_neuk%26#39;s post does (accidently?) suggest a search to several better replies.
las vegas can be a fun vacation, see cnn.com/2005/鈥ndex.html
for familys or singles, just plan it...we know from experience, since our kids were young, it is a great place to kick it with the kids...monte carlo is a great suggestion...just do some more searching...you%26#39;re making a good start here...deb
I stayed at Orleans with my 7 year old for 2 days and we never went on the strip. the pool at orleans is now open later and we also went bowling. We were coming back from an Arizona trip the week following Memorial Day. orleans also has movie theater, arcade and Kid%26#39;s time for kids up to 9 years old.
Excalibur has seen better days..if tight budget and need 2 rooms, maybe, because of low rates.
MGM is best pool for kids, nice food court., kids may be able to share room free
Monte Carlo will charge extra for kids in room
luxor is a very cool looking hotel with some kid things to do and big pool area
If you rent a car, Rio has big rooms and nice pool, but is off-strip
Mystere is a sure thing, and maybe Blue Man. Hoover dam tour
