I just spoke with a reservations agent at Mirage. I was calling to let them know our upcoming stay was for our anniversary, and although we booked a package through Yahoo Travel, she said they would do something special for us. I said that maybe the front desk agent could help us out (maybe a room upgrade, etc.), and she said that it is their policy that ALL people there for an anniversary or honeymoon WILL recieve special treatment. She did not elaborate on if that was champagne in the room or an upgrade or what, but they do still go out of their way.
With that said, I doubt you have to produce a marriage certificate to prove this sort of thing, so if you were a little sneaky, you could call them and say it%26#39;s a honeymoon or anniversary regardless of if it really is. Of course they will have you in the system from that point on as having these special dates, so you%26#39;d be stuck into whenever you used the ploy.
Thought this might help!
For anyone staying at Mirage
Blackjack,
You are correct! We%26#39;ve stayed at The Mirage twice before and always said it%26#39;s our anniversary and got a nice upgrade (comp) to the Tower Deluxe Room and/or champagne in the room!
This year, we%26#39;re trying the ';really big tip'; for a suite upgrade (end of June) and also mentioning the anniversary. I%26#39;m keeping my fingers crossed!
For anyone staying at Mirage
Do you always resort to such cheap tackiness??? I%26#39;m sure everyone has their price but I%26#39;d like to believe mine is bit more than the cost of a bottle of champagne or a room upgrade. Karma
We%26#39;re not cheap. Nor do we really care about the champagne. It%26#39;s the thought that counts! We%26#39;re also not low rollers, either.
So, keep your sarcastic and nasty comments to yourself.
I hear a little birdy...';Cheap! Cheap!';
Tell the restaurants it%26#39;s your birthday and make the waiters sing, even if it%26#39;s not!
