Golf

My husband would like to golf one day while we are in Vegas (in July... don%26#39;t ask me why he thinks that would be enjoyable!)

Any thoughts on where he could go? He isn%26#39;t into really fancy golf... doesn%26#39;t have to be a private club... but someplace he can have fun swinging a club. Not outrageously expensive greens fees, seeing how much we will be spending on this trip.

Thanks again! You all are the best. When I get back I will post a trip report with all the scoop.

Golf

wahooaz: what is outrageously expensive to you (him)? This is Las Vegas remember...give an amount and you%26#39;ll get some feedback and recommendations per your budget.

Golf

golf in vegas is very expensive for the most part. expect to pay around 100.00. i play the 30 -40 dollar courses in dallas so to me it is kinda steep. however, the courses there look INCREDIBLE.

I suggest Desert Pines....played there last year. It was home for the Big Break III on The Golf Channel.

Great course and relatively inexpensive (approx $50). 20 minutes from the strip.

Local PGA member here. Try Tuscany for about $55, and Desert Pines $95 summer rates. Either place will require a taxi or rental.

On the strip expect $300+

$100 is ok, but not $300!

We live in Arizona and know that greens fees can get out of hand, but up to $100 is fine.

Thanks!

Well the good news is the green fees are at thier lowest f rates after Memorial Day to just before Labor day. Since you are from AZ I assume your husband knows to start early in the morning with a flash light on the first hole or two. Otherwise reserving a hospital room with a view right now would be a good idea while they are still available..

However finding a course for $100 or less will be challanging even in July. As stated Tuscany in Henderson is the best value for a decent course. Badlands , Desert Pines, and Angel Park are also worth checking into. Catch is any of the very view $100 or less will cost another $80 to $100 in taxi fees if you do not have a rental car.

Thanks. I gave all your information to my husband, who will make his own reservations (and probably far exceed the golf budget I set, LOL!

Also, he knows all about golfing in the heat. He goes with his friends in the summer, to play the great courses in AZ that are usually much higher priced.

Thanks for the info everyone!
