HELP First timer neds hotel advice

I loooove Caesars, prefer Bally%26#39;s to the Paris (they%26#39;re basically the same hotel and staying at one gives your privleges at the other, Bally%26#39;s is just cheaper) NYNY smells funny, in my opinion. The emerald tower rooms at the MGM are supposedly kind of grim but the newer ones are fairly nice. Don%26#39;t know anyone who%26#39;s stayed at the Monte Carlo, but I%26#39;m not all that impressed with their casino. They do have a good noodle bar though.

First time - go for Caesars ask for the new tower, second choice would be Paris/Ballys (Ballys is always slightly cheaper)

I agree with the others. For a first trip it%26#39;s ideal to be in a central location and of your list, Caesar%26#39;s %26amp; Paris are definitely best in that department. And they%26#39;re also right that Bally%26#39;s is a good bet for location %26amp; value. The rooms are pretty large and the casino is easy to find your way around, which are nice plusses too.

To be honest- I%26#39;ve stayed at over a dozen Vegas hotels but have never stayed at Caesar%26#39;s so I can%26#39;t really recommend it as being more than a good location with lots of good food, shopping %26amp; gambling available. I%26#39;ve always found better deals elsewhere, sometimes even at places like Bellagio %26amp; Wynn. If you have a little time before your trip you might want to try signing up for the email lists at any property you think you might like. They%26#39;ll include you in promotional mailings and you might find you can afford a place you never thought you%26#39;ve be able to swing.

lilbunny, glad you mentioned the smell at NYNY. I thought I was the only one who really didn%26#39;t like the place at all. I thought it was dirty and run down. I couldn%26#39;t wait to get out of there. It also seemed like a hangout for all the kids who were too young to be there but old enough to be left alone by their parents.

Ha ha damama, my husband and I always joke that they pipe in the smell for that authentic New York City feel! I%26#39;m not a big fan either, it seems like the set up is poor so the human traffic is always bunched up in places (again, much like NYC itself) and it%26#39;s just cramped feeling.

Value for money, Bally%26#39;s is my choice on the strip, though the newer rooms at the Flamingo (only the newer rooms!) can sometimes be got for cheap too. This next trip is mor a wedding and the bride%26#39;s family is paying for us all to stay at Caesar%26#39;s. Wheee!

Another vote for CP or Paris. Central location makes ALL the difference on your first trip. We learned that the hard way when we stayed at MGM Grand our first time - I don%26#39;t think we made it past Aladdin the whole trip, everything else was so far away.

Thanks so much for the fast replies everyone, we have decided on the PARIS , Vegas here we come in September !! Anyone else going in September?? I will email the hotel and see if we can get any email discounts?

Caesars

MGM

Monte Carlo

MGM, Monte Carlo, Caesars-best pools

Best location Paris, Caesars

Monte Carlo is smaller and quieter, less LONG hiking to elevator, but close to cool mega-casinos MGM and NYNY, Mandalay Bay

Caesars in a well-maintained classic top property, near a lot to see and do, nice pool with a separate topless area

Paris is new and luxurious

MGM is big and frenetic, lotta walking, great lazy-river pool, food court

NYNY beautiful casino, nice enough location

My vote for June-Sept.swim season

.Monte Carlo for the Wave Pool and Lazy River resort atmosphere plus lower rates

Price no object?, CP adult laid-back resort atmosphere

as the others have said I would go with a center strip hotel, which would be either Caesars or Bally%26#39;s, although I haven%26#39;t stayed at either, so really can%26#39;t comment on the rooms/service. We have stayed at the Monte Carlo in one of their suites and it was really nice, very big and their pool area is really nice as well.
