Second part of the TR -
Day 3 Sat - We decided to sleep in and avoid some of the crowds we saw pouring in last night by sleeping in and enjoying breakfast brought to our room. The sleep in part was foiled by the maid giving a quick knock and attempting to open the door at 3 minutes after 8:00. They must have remotes for the lights because she was somehow able to turn on the lights by our window and beds without even entering the room. (The bar lock was engaged thank God!) Breakfast in the room ran us about $60 with tip and all the fees. The food was incredibly hot for having traveled all the way up from the kitchen, it was delicious. We met up with our traveling partners about 1:00 and headed over to NYNY for the roller coaster. It was a good time as it always is. We picked up some tickets for the comedy show at the Riveria for that night. The tickets were half price ($10) before the $8 per ticket fee the casino charges. The show was ok. We had a few laughs. They packed everyone in there with no drink service. The hotel was a far cry from what we%26#39;d become used to at the Bellagio. We will opt for the comedy show at the Tropicana next time.
Before I forget to mention our traveling companions opted for the Paris Buffet for breakfast based on the reviews I told them about from TA and had a horrible experience. The wait was about 45 minutes and I guess the food was all luke warm to cold. Their server came to give them drinks and never came back to refill. I%26#39;m assuming this was unusual since I have seen such different reviews on here. They did say the crepe station was the best part.
Day 4 Sun - We used the line pass at Cafe Bellagio for a nice meal. We had a great view of the pool and a fun and lively waitress. Breakfast was about $140 with our cocktails but we were feeling good so we didn%26#39;t care. Toured the lobby a bit and drooled over the chocolate fountains. We then headed up strip on foot to check out the Wynn. Nice hotel with a similar feel to Bellagio. the only wow moment was the waterfall. There was nothing I saw that marker this hotel as unique. They have a good deal on their players club. Sign up and get $10 in free slot play. This worked for they guys but not on mine. The line was far too long to go back and ask about it since we were short on time. Bottom line was that the perks came in about half the time of the MGM chain we were playing.
We went to the Rio to check out the Mardi Gras show since I%26#39;d never seen it. The show was really blah and we didn%26#39;t finish watching it. There were floats with only 1 person on them. I think this show would be more exciting when thee are more people involved and when you have a good buzz. We had some drinks and nacho%26#39;s in the upper area Mexican restaurant which was fun.
We hurried back to the room to get dressed up for dinner at Delmonico%26#39;s. This dinner was the highlight or our dinning experiences in Vegas. We were waited on hand and foot by a team of 5 waiters who politely hovered to listen for our every need. They picked up that we were on the trip to celebrate 3 out of the 4 people%26#39;s b-days. We started with beer fondue and pretzels. It was a spicy cheese fondue with bits of prime rib in it. They then brought a gift from the chef of smoked prime beef with grilled flat bread and horseradish sauce. For dinner I chose beef madalions with lobster mashed potatoes and tempura asparagus. One of our steaks was over cooked and it was whisked away and a new perfect filet was in front of her in about 2 minutes. They then brought the whole table chocolate sorbet with candles for our b-days. We also ordered dessert but all of us were stuffed! I wish we could have taken it to go with us to enjoy later. The service was the best I have ever had and the food to die for! We%26#39;ll be back.
We finished dinner just as blue man group ended. The taxi line was about 200 people deep and complete madness. We were left with little choice but to walk back in our heels (ouch!). We got back with about an hour to spare before O. The show was very good and the stage amazing. I must say both my hubbie and I liked Mystere better. There were more jaw dropping moments in that show for us. We will plan to see Ka next time.
Day 5 going home - We enjoyed the buffet at the Bellagio one last time and it was wonderful. We checked our bags while we gambled the last bit before we headed out. Since we had checked out bags they will let you bypass the taxi line which is a big time saver and nice touch! We will probably stay at the Bellagio again next time we come back. We loved the fountains and the comfort of the hotel.
6/1-5 Bellagion TR Part II - Long!Very nice end to a great TR! Can you tell me which hotel Delmonico is in? We%26#39;re trying to settle on a steakhouse, and are between Prime, CCSteackhouse, and the one at Harrah%26#39;s (just woke up, can%26#39;t think of the name right now). Also, approx. how much for the 4 people? Thank you. So glad you had a great time!!
6/1-5 Bellagion TR Part II - Long!Delmonico is in the Venetian. It should run between $75-100 pp depending on your alcohol/wine consumption. With no alcohol you could probably get away with about $60 pp.
Thank you! We%26#39;ll be in the $100 pp range, since we like our alcohol!!!
Tipsie, Prime might be over the top price range wise for you with the alcohol factored in. It is a truly outstanding dining experience though. But if you want to stick to that $100 per person total, then I%26#39;d say CC Steakhouse or Delmonico%26#39;s would be better for you, both are excellent.
Thanks, Gabby! We%26#39;ll probably do this ';fancy'; dinner toward the end of the trip. So...if we%26#39;re winning, we%26#39;ll hit Prime, since we%26#39;re staying right there at Bellagio. If down :( it%26#39;ll be CC. If holding steady, Delmonico. Does that sound like a plan? :)
Oh, how bout MAG? Where would that fit in? DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!! It%26#39;s so hard, since I know we%26#39;ll only be doing one ';fancy'; dinner, and I want it to be perfect!
The dinner ran us $250 with my husbands 25 year scotch consumption. We also had an appitizer, entree with sides %26amp; dessert. One thing to note was that the wait staff was fun yet professional. It didn%26#39;t feel stuffy in there at all.
Tipsie maybe Gabby will confirm this but you need to reserve Prime well in advance and ask for a table by the window(Iintend doing this and dropping in earlier in the day ';';to confirm ';our res.and ';shake hands'; with the maitre%26#39;d and ask about our window seat)Also the Steakhouse@C.C takes res.10 days out, reserve both and cancel one nearer the time.
firsttimer is correct, reserve Prime WAY in advance. You can always cancel it once you are in Vegas and have a feel for how you are doing gambling.
Mon Ami Gabi, everyone loves it, more reasonably priced than Prime and Delmonico%26#39;s but still not cheap, for Vegas guess I%26#39;d say it%26#39;s mid range + price rise.
firsttimer, I do know a lot about Vegas but I am no s*xpert on it!
Thanks, people! Will definitely take your advice. (Gabby, lovin the new avatar!!)
I%26#39;ll write on my calendar 10 days out to call for res%26#39;s at CC. Anyone know how far out for Prime?
Prime allows reservations up to 1 month in advance.
