Car Promo Codes

I%26#39;d like to reserve a car through Travelocity and they ask if I have a promo code. I hate knowing that I can get a car even cheaper or upgraded with a code, but I don%26#39;t have one. Can anyone help?? I%26#39;ll be there in August.

Have you tried booking direct with the car rental agency? I have been checking rates for August and they are creeping downward even without a code. I woouldn%26#39;t suggest booking third party unless you have the option to rebook for a better rate.

I have a promo code thru ACG for Alamo. I have no idea if you can use it thru Travelocity. You may have to go thru the agency. I still wish someone would tell me the plus to going with a site like that, when the hotels/car rentals/air fare all seem really good on those sites alone. If I were to do something like that, I%26#39;d see my travel agent!

Anyway, sorry to digress. The code I have for Alamo is DT9B. There is also an ID #641394. The downside to this is that it states you have to present original coupon at counter. You can get an ACG thru Amazon.com. I paid $15 and will save FAR more than that.

I just booked a car at dollar.com for the week after next. The economy cars were renting for under $15 a day. I took a full-sized (Taurus) for four days for a grand total of $123.

If you really want to low-ball it, get a few rates at the usual companies and then head to priceline dot com.
