I have not been to Vegas since 1973. Are there any cheap Blackjack tables?
Cheap blackjack tables
What do you call cheap? There are $5.00 tables in most of the hotels at some point during the day but I don%26#39;t recall seeing a less expensive table. There could be one in Downtown but I don%26#39;t remember seeing anything less there, either.
Cheap blackjack tables
Most of the casinos downtown have $5 tables.
Also, you can find $5 tables at Flamingo, Stardust, Frontier. In general, the older the place, the lower the limits. I played $3 BJ at CC a couple of years ago. I don%26#39;t know if there are any $3 tables around anywhere now.
In the swanky places like Wynn, Venetian, Bellagio, a $10 table is hard to find. Most will be at $15 and up.
Back in 73 there were $2 and $3 tables all over. I guess if you apply the inflation rate over the past 34 years on that $2-$3, it probably equates to a $15 bet now. So, a $10 table is not that unreasonable now.
I%26#39;ve heard that Orleans has $3.00 and $5.00 BJ.
Thanks for the information. My idea of cheap is $5.00 and under.
One big change since 1973: Many casinos have discovered that many players who frequent the low minimum BJ games are willing to pay the casino $12-$15 an hour to sit at the table. It%26#39;s done in the form of lowering the payoff for a natural blackjack from the customary 3:2 to 6:5. This is also common at many single deck games.
Hi,
I have read through these online forums that 4 Queens and the El Cortez downtown both have single deck $5 minimum with the 3:2 payout for a blackjack. I haven%26#39;t verified the information but plan to check it out when we go to Vegas in July.
Yes, you%26#39;re right. The lower limit tables usually only pay off at 6:5, plus some restrictions on splitting and doubling down. And what I really hate are the perpetual card shuffling machines!
the older strip casino%26#39;s will have $5 BJ, but most of the nicer places will be bumped up to $15 by midafternoon on the weekends.
