We stayed at the Bellagio Monday 05/15/06 thru Monday 05/22/06 for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay... until Friday. I understand that the weekends are when Vegas comes alive, but honestly the Bellagio was a completely different hotel Monday thru Thursday than it was Friday thru Sunday. So much so that we%26#39;ll be leaving the weekends to the Californians and booking ALL future Vegas trips for Monday thru Friday. In Bellagio%26#39;s defense there was a pretty large convention (Shopping Center Council or something) scheduled to start Monday the 22nd, but since Vegas is the convention capital of the world I feel that it shouldn%26#39;t have been an issue. Anyway, I have split my review into Monday thru Thursday, Friday thru Sunday and a Tips section. It just seemed fairer.
MONDAY thru THURSDAY
PROS
Staff was attentive and very friendly.
Check In (Monday at 10:30 A.M.) took 10 minutes.
We were in our room by 11 A.M.
Room and bathroom was beautiful, clean and had a great view.
Restaurants were relatively easy to get into and absolutely wonderful, especially Olives.
Room service was prompt, food was good and phone staff was thorough and pleasant.
The casino was spacious and quite beautiful. Smoke wasn’t really an issue either.
Maid service was good and they left lots of extras.
The dealers were very pleasant.
The pool was beautiful, warm and the staff was great.
The Conservatory was cool and was definitely worth a look. We actually got to watch the ';4th of July'; display go up which was pretty cool.
CONS
Slots are TIGHT!
Table limits are kind of high.
Food and drink are really pricey (I expected this but it still hurt to pay $4 for a Coke).
Most of the pool chairs are ';toweled'; but not occupied by 8:30 A.M. (Staff will remove them after an hour if you don%26#39;t have the balls).
Non heated pools are uber cold and practically unusable, even in 100 degree weather.
FRIDAY thru SATURDAY
CONS
Couldn%26#39;t get a reservation (not even in the cafe) for dinner to save our lives.
Room service took well over an hour for a simple bottle of champagne.
Desk and casino staff was grumpy and indifferent.
The casino was a mad house.
The clubs Light and Caramel were lame and did not play good music. Lines outside were unnecessary and kept there to make the club look more exclusive than it really is.
PROS
There were none.
TIPS
Fountain view rooms are well worth the money.
Make dinner reservations for the weekend early or you’ll end up eating in the “diner” of your hotel.
Expect to wait at least an hour to get into the hot clubs. Also, don’t expect to sit down in the club unless you want to drop a ton of cash on table service.
Use (and tip) the concierge to get into hot restaurants, clubs, shows, etc.
See “O”. It was well worth the money.
Don’t touch the mini bar. Don’t breathe on the mini bar either.
Use the automated check in/ out service. The check out line was a mile long when we left so to save us another line we tried it. It took all of about 3 minutes and was super easy.
Get one of the staff at the pool to help you find a chair when they you can’t find one where you want to sit. We saw them moving empties and removing towels all day. Don’t forget to tip them.
Join the slot club. We barely gambled and got $5.00 back.
Bellagio Reviews I know ,I know
Everybody knows (well nearly everybody) that the Bellagio is busy at weekends, food is expensive, pool is busy, restaurants are busy(get reservations in advance), clubs are ';lame';,well plenty pay $400 to get a seat and a bottle of booze,
Room service was slow,(3000 rooms go figure ),If you want it that quick go to a licquer store
Funny how he /she gives a lot of tips after their stay ,with a little bit of foresight and planning he /she could have had all those tips(plus a lot more ,line passes, travel mug of coffee etc.)before their stay .
Dont blame the hotel for being popular and you not being informed
Bellagio Reviews I know ,I know
Thanks Firstimer. I agree completely. Las Vegas is a different city Monday through Friday. Much nicer.
Restaurant reviews?
Finally, I%26#39;m confused. I thought you were going in September. Am I losing the little bit left of my mind?
Thats not my post damana ,I copied and pasted it from the hotel section to show people that being addicted to this site and picking up the tips pays off.Bet this poster paid more than $149a night as well
Ok, I get it. Did you cut and paste someone%26#39;s report. I%26#39;m sooooo confused.
Clear now damana ,well you know what they say ';Poverty and insanity are inherited .......................you get both off your kids';
And mine are making it happen sooner than later. I thought maybe I had slept through your trip. Glad we got that straight.
You are sooooooooo right firsttimer!!!! I love this forum and I get so many tips from everyone here. I probably come here at least twice a day and it has saved us so much time and money along with everything else. We go to Vegas a couple of times a year and I wouldn%26#39;t know what to do without all of you!! If this poster would have been checking this sight she wouldn%26#39;t have had the problems she did. And I bet she didn%26#39;t pay the $149 rate that you were so kind to give the promo code for.
I just read it and she reminded me of something that some might find helpful.
On my last trip I forgot to check out while still in the room and didn%26#39;t want to stand in line. I just picked up a house phone in the lobby and did it that way. It took about 10 seconds and the receipt was mailed to my home.
You see damana ,thats why I come on here .Those little nuggets like you just gave gave are only small things ,But add them all up and you save a lot of time, money ,frustration and those ';fu%* it'; moments that can spoil a vacation.
I%26#39;m afraid I may need to start going to a 12 step meeting over this.
