Las Vegas Between Xmas and New Years....Help!

Hi everyone, I need some advise...

Myself and a friend of mine are both first time goers to Las Vegas (both 22 year old %26#39;s). We were origionally thinking about going on new years (yes jacked up prices and all), but it sounds liek most recommend not going at this time for your first time. So, we have decided to start looking into going from the 25th of December until the 29th to miss the hectic rush of the New Years crowd! Is this time of year recommended? Or will it be in a down time because of christmas?? Any advise/ and additional info woudl be greatly appreciated... thanking you in advance..

Also, is the MGM a good place for us??

Most shows dark during this time.

Also MANY Asians take advantage of this time and come to LV. Doesn%26#39;t bother me but some people have hangup with it.

I would not go over New Years - too pricey and crowded. The week in between or the week before Christmas would be better. that%26#39;s when I went last time (the four days leading up to Christmas Eve) and the temps were nice (in the upper 60s - better than winter on the east coast!). Beautiful Christmas decorations in the Bellagio and trees....Caesars had really cool christmas trees too. I had a great time!

You might try the week right after the CES convention, which is held the first week in January. Shows are open, prices are good, crowds are light. Weather can be dicey, though, sometimes it snows!
