TR - caesars, wedding, flamingo, hoover dam, VoF PART DOS

wednesday may 31st -

wake up early to check out of caesars.. definitely miss that place.

attempt to check in early at flamingo... but room not ready. great.

brunch at tropical breeze cafe? at flamingo pretty good...lots of grease but thats what you pay for i guess.

finally get to room around 230.

430 arrive at flamingo garden wedding chapel for our wedding.

ceremony was short and sweet and very nice.

about an hour of pics later.. into the escalade suv limo (booked to a-1 limos our driver was very proffessional and humorous) and off to bellagio for pics in front of fountains.

back into limo and off to canaletto for dinner at the venetian... more pics. dinner was good. they charge a lot for bottles of water. gave us 2 bottles of that carbonated water crap which no one drank yet we paid for.

930 - off to monte carlo for prince tribute.

met some other tripadvisor buddies and enjoyed the dark stout beer there. had like a liter or 2 myself.

then back to flamingo to bed. we got a minisuite there which was tired but spacious with a nice view of the fountains.

thursday - june 1

off to the pool early ...very crowded at 8am. flamingo pool is very nice...more shady and kid friendly but great nonetheless.

dinner at hamada of japan at flamingo - very overrated...more like a generic benihana... half our party got sick from it that night/next morning

evening - mystere at TI - enjoyable show .. blah blah blah.

spent evening walking around various casinos, etc.

friday june 2 - car tour of hoover dam, lake mead by accident, and valley of fire

hoover dam was overrated...couldnt park close to it without paying and views are blocked by powerlines, etc.

attempted to drive straight to VoF...but got lost and ended up taking the 60 mile scenic route thru lake mead onto VoF. took some nice pics.

lunch at lonestar - good, typical chain food. loaded cheese fries were tasty.

wife went to see barry manilow at night while i played nickel slots at the hilton. 3 becks dark and 1.5 hrs later we go back to our hotel.

Saturday june 3 -

wake up early - pool at 8am til 10am

airport at noon... flight home

Sorry the electrical lines blocked your views, that%26#39;s kind of the whole purpose of the dam Dam, to provide power.

Consider yourself fortunate. You stumbled upon a gem of a scenic drive. That route along Lake Mead is about 1,000 times more interesting than the trek up I-15, and its much quicker too.

well..we intended to go straight from hoover damn to the valley of fire...but somehow got lost and entered lake mead...after paying the 5 bucks to enter the park the lady tells us that we have a 60 mile drive ahead of us of nothing but rocks and desert. by the time we got to the valley of fire we felt let down because after seeing so many rock formations thru lake mead..we just wanted to get back to our hotel and eat.

hoover damn wasnt that bad either...i just expected more. way too much construction.
