Spent Feb 20 - 24 in Vegas with 5 others to celebrate my 40th and my mom%26#39;s 75th b-days. Best meal - Magnolia%26#39;s in the 4 Queens. We had between 3 and 4 people attending to us at all times. 3 had the $8.25 prime rib special - cooked perfect and 3 had the New York Sirloin - wonderful! Best mashed potatoes I%26#39;ve ever had in a restaurant!
The best gambling was at Harrah%26#39;s, Fitzgerald%26#39;s and the RIO. Won $1200 on a Haywire Double Diamond outside of the Tilted Kilt. The best drinking and sights were at the VOODOO Lounge, get there at 5pm and grab the sitting area in the front down one level, get a Witch Doctor and watch the Strip come alive. Fun crowd too!
Took a sidetrip to the Boneyard, (the Neon Boneyard) and Melanie from the Neon Museum gave us an AWESOME tour, it was a blast! You have to arrange this ahead of time, I highly recommend it for buffs of slice of America, off the beaten track kinda tours. Then spent the night at Fitzgerald%26#39;s downtown without checking out of the Flamingo, it is so reasonable when split the 6 ways to get 2 rooms on a weeknight. I planned this ahead of time because was unsure how my Mom would hold up. (I shouldn%26#39;t have worried!) I KNEW I would want to have a night of partying all night downtown but would have felt I had to leave if she was tired, so solved this by convincing the group to stay one night at Fitz. This worked out really well and the funny lines coming out of this experience were ';Well, I bet they only have ONE room in Vegas, we have TWO!!!'; and this exchange ';I%26#39;m homesick.'; ';You%26#39;re kidding me right, you can%26#39;t be homesick?!'; ';I miss the Flamingo!!!'; Very fun croupiers at $1roulette at the Fitz and Mom won over $300 on the ELVIS slot.
Thanks Flamingo for all the great service, especially giving me full credit for a ticket to see George Wallace that was not able to be used, I never expected that I would be reimbursed for a ticket that was already paid for (our group went from 7 to 6 before we even left home.) 5 of us had Hot Stone Massages at the wonderful Spa at the Flamingo, and you should too!!!
I originally posted the above under Trip Reviews a long time ago, before I discovered actual Trip Reports.

Great trip report! That is so cool that they reimbursed your money
for the show ticket. Happy belated birthdays!
Thanks gailzy and EAG20 for your well wishes! You absolutely must get the hot rocks massage, I cannot wait for my next one, I may try Elemis at Mohegan before the end of June!
May I ask, how much did the stone massage run per person?
Thank-you, I plan on staying at the Flamingo at the end of July and it would be a good present to my mom.
I believe the cost was $115 (ballpark) for the massage alone, we added on the extra 2 days of spa privileges which made the total around $135. Tip was extra. It was a great experience, the entire staff was wonderful. You can access a ';spa menu'; from their website to get the exact rates and additional info. Have fun!
Sounds like you had a great time. Where is the Neon Museum? Do you have a phone # or address? Thanks
Send an e-mail to info@neonmuseum.org and someone will get back to you. The minimum tour costs $50, we obviously split this six ways and added a tip for our tour provider who was great, maybe if you are a smaller group you could inquire about hooking up with a tour which had already been booked. We went in Feb and I just do have to remind people about the heat, there is absolutely NO shade during this one hour tour, you have to know your own capacity for standing and walking in the heat. Good luck! Check out their website too, www.neonmuseum.org.
