Mount Charleston

I would like to escape the heat to Mount Charleston july 5 0r 6th.

I searched to see weather in that area and all I see is that it is 20 -30 degrees cooler. my wife and I like to hike and everywhere else will be hot hot hot. anyone have experience going up to Mount Charleston in july or august for a day trip and what it was like or where I could access weather info. also any tips of what to do in the area would be great. so if it is 110 degrees in las vegas, it would be ??? in Mount Charleston?

thanks!

My husband and I frequent Mt. Charleston and I can tell you from personal experience you will enjoy. That is the basic rule for weather here....whatever the temp is in the valley, it will be approx. 25 degrees cooler on the mountain. You can access their weather report at www.mtcharlestonlodge.com/links.html . There are only two ';resorts'; on the mountain and the better one is The Lodge...not The Hotel (see above website). There are really no ';luxury'; accomodations but The Lodge has cute cabins (mountainside...with beautiful views). If we could, we would probably go there every weekend! You will be glad you went!
