Dollar Rental Car
Do yourself a favor and go to dollar.com and sign up for their Express program. It%26#39;s free. That way, you get on to the rental shuttle (everyone has to regardless of which company they rent from), tell the driver you are Express, and they drop you off right in the parking lot and tell you to select your car from a row of cars in the class that you reserved. As you drive out, you show your DL, sign and drive away. Very nice experience. I will be renting with Dollar on Sunday. Good luck
I reserved for Monday and after the fact signed up for the dollar express as the previous post did. When I called to ad the reservation to the express account she said yes, to just proceed directly to the lot and bypass the line at the terminal which I understand can be long at times
Thanks for the advise regarding the express program. I am going to sign up now.
We used the Dollar rental car location inside Excalibur about aa year ago. Didn%26#39;t want to rent for the whole time we were in LV--just needed a car for a couple of side trips, and liked the convenience of getting it right from the hotel. Arranged the rental online well in advance of the trip, showed up, car was there, knew the price ahead of time so that was good, all worked out fine when returning it to the same location too. No surprises, no problems, we got just what we expected and the price was really decent. We%26#39;d rent from them again and I know they have a lot of hotel locations in Vegas.
When we were waiting in line to pick up our car, we overheard a few others wanting to rent at the last minute, and they were turned away. I%26#39;d be sure to make your arrangements and set your price in advance, that way you know you%26#39;ve got it.
I always reserve the car in advance. No matter what company you are using, keep checking the prices. They can drop and then you can contact them or cancel and reserve at the lower rate. I did that twice with my car on my last trip (Thrifty).
I did fine with Dollar last year. I picked up a car at the airport and dropped it off at Treasure Island a few days later, no extra charge for the different drop-off site. The desk is off-site -- at least it was last year. Better confirm that.
FWIW, having a car rental reservation desk inside the airport terminal means absolutely nothing in terms of convenience. You still have to take a shuttle to their lot.
When you rent a car,do you have to buy car insurance?thanks in advance.
In my experience, no. Just make sure that your auto insurance is up to date and be sure to have your insurance I.D. card in case it%26#39;s needed.
