Which of these Hotels?

1) The Luxor

2) MGM

3) New York, New York

4) The Flamingo

5) Ballys

6) The Mirage

or do I bite the bullet and book the Golden Nugget downtown? My only concern with the Golden Nugget is how difficult is it to get transport to and from the strip at various times of the day/night?

Once again, thanks for your advice.

Which of these Hotels?

I stayed at the flamingo last year and i have to say the pool was total fab. Animals running round!Rooms are not the best, but they are clean and big! If your strip side try for a high room for fab views. Its aross the road from CP and there are lots of good clubs in there.

I would say this is the cheapest way to stay at the best end of the strip.

Which of these Hotels?

A lot of this depends on a couple of questions. Is this your first time in Vegas? If so I wouldn%26#39;t stay Downtown. It%26#39;s got to be the Strip if at all possible for your first visit. What%26#39;s your budget? If you want to save a few $$$s then Flamingo is your best bet of these. Reasonably priced and great location. However if you can stretch to it go for the Mirage which is a much nicer hotel.

You can get the Deuce bus (24 hrs) from Downtown to the Strip ($2 or $5 for a 1 day pass) but at busy times it gets extremely crowded and is very slow. A cab is $20-25 depending on where you need on the Strip.

Mirage for pool and location.

If you rent a car (since you are from Britain, make sure you drive on the wrong side of the road), it will cost about the same as a cab fare from downtown to the strip.

I don%26#39;t quite understand how staying at the Golden Nugget is ';biting the bullet.'; It%26#39;s a nice hotel, but it%26#39;s downtown.

MGM large and @ the end of strip. Comfortable rooms and suites. Great pool area. Long walks everywhere.

Luxor just a little farther than MGM. Nice and inexpensive rooms. Kind of dark though.

NYNY you will contend will the roller coster noise until midnight. Good place to visit and gamble, but rooms are smallish.

Ballys and Flamingo kind of the same. Ballys has a small pool, Flamingo has nice pool but the hotel is tired looking.

Mirage is the most expensive of the group and the nicer. Good location, but somethime the service is lacking.

Stayed in all and MGM was the best, but they really have lacked service the last two times we stayed so we end up at Mandalay or CP.

I would take your list and turn it upside down and go from there..

Mirage

Mirage

MGM

Flamingo

No, don%26#39;t stay downtown . . . there%26#39;s so much more to do on the Strip.

In order of best combined quality and location;

Mirage,

MGM

Luxor

Ballys

NYNY

Flamingo

Avoid downtown, even to visit

My first vote would be Mirage...nice pool area, good location, when are you staying here? I also like the Flamingo, but people will tell you to be picky when requesting a room, don%26#39;t get stuck in the old side...great pool area there too, and good center of the action location.

I would skip the Golden Nugget...down town is fun for a few hours one night of your stay, but not a destination - in my opinion.
