My husband and I just retuned from vegas today and we enjoyed playing at the excalibur the best. they have a 1/3 limit hold em with a fun friendly table You may not win a ton of money but it is laid back and fun. My husband also played 2/4 limit at the aladdin not a fun friendly crowd but you can win bigger pots. played a few no limit games at the luxor and excaliber and did not do to well. have fun

Is all poker on the strip only with rakes, or are there some that charge fees to play?

MGM is my new favorite. They offer 2-4 limit and 1-2 no limit. Atmosphere is lively and friendly. The tables are well spaced so you don%26#39;t feel cramped and the drink service is good. Haven%26#39;t played any tournaments but I know they offer them daily at Aladdin, Luxor and Harrahs. Probably several others as well.

All the cash tables seem to be rake based in Vegas.

yes... I stayed at the Luxor last weekend. They hold shootout tournaments for $65 dollars, with first place getting $250 and second $150.

Every 11 players they get, they%26#39;ll start a tournament. Its fun cause its no limit, but the buy-in is more than reasonable.

My husband played in some tournaments at Bally%26#39;s for 60 buy in. Money paid to top 4 people. Between Bally%26#39;s and Paris which is joined there are tournaments all day. Just ask for a schedule at one of the poker rooms. Also played 2/4 at flamingo and everyone was laid back and fun but it was late evening and drink service was good so that may have had something to do with it.
