Mirage Valcano closed
I%26#39;ve heard some of the attractions (volcano, Bellagio fountains, some rides) will be closed when there are high winds.
I just got an e-mail from the Luxor (we are going in July). They had some of the pools closed for this reason recently but the manager said that it%26#39;s usually less windy in July so all the pools should be open when I%26#39;m there. (I was concerned when I read reviews by people upset because not all 4 pools were open).

I have read articles about it in the newspapers saying that the volcano will be closed for renovations- they are trying to make it more spectacular. I haven%26#39;t seen any definite date for closing. It will be closed for months. The woman at the Mirage said she knew nothing about it!
Read this from the Mirage press release:
The Mirage Volcano
For completion in 2007, Wet Design, the firm that created the Fountains of Bellagio, will enhance the iconic volcano with fire explosions which blast taller, lava which appears hotter, sounds which boom louder and an overall more dramatic volcano experience .
But they didn%26#39;t list a date for the renovations.
Still up and running as of 6/2 (Friday).
I just talked with the front desk at the Mirage and she asked Management and they said it will still be open through this weekend.
i e-mailed the mirage to find out what was going on and they said it was operating and it would still be operating in august when i am there hope this helps.
Still erupting as of June 3rd! Kind of dull after the Bellagio fountains. Hope the report is true that they will try to make it more spectacular.
We were in Las Vegas over Memorial Day week-end. One of the days was super windy. The fountain show at the Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage, the rides at the Stratophere, and our pool at the Plaza were closed because of high winds. Bummer!
Does anyone know when they will start??
They start at 8 PM.
