Imperial Palace Taxi difficulty

Hello,

I%26#39;ve read here that it can be really hard to get a cab at Imperial Palace. Anyone stayed there have this trouble?? If so, what would be a good option for getting one elsewhere? We are going in August so don%26#39;t want a long walk of course.

I don%26#39;t know how hard it would be to catch a cab at IPbut you are very close to Harrahs and Flamingo if you have issues. It would be easy to walk through Harrahs to catch a cab there.

I would have to agree - we went there for the Auto exhibit. It was very hot, so we decided we would take the taxi back to MGM, and we waited forever. Probably 20 minutes. The area you wait in is covered, but it%26#39;s still a million degrees under there.

We didn%26#39;t have any trouble getting one there and had actually walked from another hotel.

Many people do know know that you can not hail a cab directly on the street. It is illegal for the cabs to stop to pick-up someone on the strip.

It seems as if taxis only come to IP to drop people off so it all depends on who%26#39;s coming and going. I%26#39;ve had trouble on many occasions grabbing a cab here. I%26#39;ve walked in both directions to catch cabs at other hotels and found it was much easier.

I%26#39;ll be the contrarian here. I actually go to the trouble to catch a cab at the IP when on the East side of the Strip. Places like Harrahs, Flamingo, etc. have the cab area at the back of the property. You spend an extra few bucks just getting you back to the Strip. IP is much more convenient because it is right on LV Blvd. I%26#39;ve never waited more than 5 min.

Never had a problem getting a taxi from the IP, there is usually a line of 4 or 5. Only once were there none, but one came within a couple of minutes.

I had trouble getting a cab at the IP when I stayed there 2 years ago. The wait was always at least 30 minutes. When I had to leave for the airport, the wait was at least 45 minutes, so I walked down to the Barbary Coast and took the shuttle to the airport from there.

On a daily basis, cabs flow to the airport when a large number of flights are arriving. Better fares back too the strip

I have never had a problem to get a taxi at the IP..I don%26#39;t know what all these others are talking about. I wish everyone would stop bad mouthing the IP..If you don%26#39;t like it DON%26#39;T STAY THERE!!

Get off your hide horse and go stay at the other expensive locations for a few hours of sleep a night.

I wasn%26#39;t bad mouthing the IP. Someone asked a question, and I simply answered it. I wasn%26#39;t staying at the IP when I tried to get a taxi, I was staying at Excalibur, and didn%26#39;t want to walk in 100 degree weather after being at the auto exhibit at IP. I happened to have been one of the unfortunate people who had to wait 20 minutes to get a cab from there......
