Just wondering how the Italian is at the Market City Caffe at the Monte Carlo.
Looking for low key but quality food.
Thanks,

Market City Caffe at the Monte Carlo - Opinions anyone???It is decent for a good price. However if you want the best try Pasta Shop.
www.pastashop.com
The prices are low enough at Pasta Shop if two or more are going more than covers the cab fare.
Market City Caffe at the Monte Carlo - Opinions anyone???Thanks Vegashomeboy!
I was asking about the Monte Carlo%26#39;s restaurant because we have tickets to the Lance Burton show at 10 p.m. I thought it would be nice to relax and have dinner there before the show.

We ate there twice when I took my Dad to LV. It%26#39;s not the best you can find, but we actually thought it was pretty good. It was relaxing and a great place to enjoy some good food, bread, wine and conversation.
If you are up for steak or seafood Blackstones is pretty good.
Andre%26#39;s is to die for if you can afford it.
I stayed at the monte in May %26#39;04 with my hubby for 4 nights. Our last night there we ate at Dragon Noodle. They have really good chinese food. Their seafood noodles are awesome. They also make good drinks. They would be a great low key choice. This ended up being our favourite meal of our trip. The coffee and bagel shop at the monte carlo had really good fresh roasted coffee for anyone going to stay there. have a great trip.
The food is decnt and cheap..I ate there in March and the main downside is visited the restroom 13 times in the next 24 hours.....You can make your own conclusion.
Eh.. it%26#39;s fair. They really make a lot of the antipasto bar, which I didn%26#39;t think was all that special. You could do worse, but I%26#39;d eat at the brewpub, personally.
My husband and I make it our first night in Vegas restaurant every trip as we just want to be low key-we stay at the MC so it is convenient. We last ate there last month and the meal and service were both very good-the prices for there entrees have gone up a few dollars since our last trip in Nov, but are still reasonable(seafood pasta $22and very good. The lamb ragu and lasagna are alos good choices and are about $14-$15. We never do the salad bar, the breadsticks with the meal are enough. Their cappucino and espresso are good also.
Just a note- another poster commented on the Dragon Noodle- I can%26#39;t recall when they said they went, but we gave it a third and final try in may - it was terrible. The service was non-existent- the waiter never came by to check to see if we needed another beverage or anything- the food is mediocre quality bland tasting Chinese.
Should you want Chinese, there are better choices on the Strip- Ah Sin at paris is on.
Having dinner at the cafe works well before seeing lance- however if your budget allows, I suggest Blackstone%26#39;s. try and be seated in Rene%26#39;s section. He is a wonderful waiter- we eat there once each trip and have had him on numerous occasions.
ENJOY!!
Since it will be four of us, the parents and our teenagers, the other restaurants will be very expensive. I have kids with adventurous palates and healthy appetites. Vegas is a three night visit before heading to Zion for three nights and then a timeshare exchange in Park City.
We splurged to buy tickets to see the new Cirque show, LOVE and then opted to see Lance Burton who%26#39;s tickets are still reasonable IMO. Even though the Cirque show is still in previews when we are there (late June) it still adds up. We booked a fairly reasonable package to stay at Mandalay Bay and goodness knows those kids have to eat three meals a day! :-)
I like Vegashomeboy%26#39;s advice to be a traveller and not a tourist. Since it is our first trip to Vegas, we will probably play the tourist more often than not! My husband and I have travelled all over the US and Canada with our kids to show them life beyond New England. Vegas ought to be an interesting addition to our travels!
Thanks so much for all your advice! I will check out Blackstone%26#39;s menu and prices again.
